The latest Department of Homeland Security (DHS) data reveals the extent of Biden’s unlimited Afghan resettlement operation — the largest in American history — since his administration’s withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan.

As of this week, more than 74,400 Afghans have been resettled in small towns and cities across 46 states. Today, just 1,200 Afghans remain temporarily living on U.S. military bases, as all others have been placed in communities.

More than 76,000 Afghans, in total, have been brought to the U.S. even as top DHS officials admit that minimal vetting procedures are conducted. This month, an Afghan man was charged with sexually assaulting a woman.

There are some seriously xenophobic snowflakes on here. If someone teams with us and then we skedaddle and leave him/her and their family at risk of their lives, the only practical move is to resettle them here. They will work and their kids will get educated and they'll blend in well enough. See Laotians, Hmong, Vietnamese, etc.

He doesn’t care about being liked. He’s a sociopath who has sold himself to the highest bidder for 25 years. He’s a war criminal and should have been held accountable for some of the inmates that he allowed to be executed under his watch as Governor. Pesky executive protection.

That's so sweet you called me Einstein. The topic was effectiveness of mask and social distancing mandates, for which they're a good point of comparison with Tennessee. This one's about expressed fear and loathing of Afghan immigrants.

It was a great comparison. One is surrounded by water and one is land locked. And the cultures are about as diametrically opposed as you can get. Other than those two minor points it was awesome.

Edit: and scroll up on my on point comment. Forced migration is NEVER a good idea and isn’t an equivalent replacement for natural immigration

Entirely different cultures than the Afgans but hey, anything is possible and they may work out. Just look at the Somali refugees, oh wait umm.

There are similarities in education, etc. Those around DC seem to be doing well.

Pulling in small groups and integrating them into society, even if they are dead weight as we have so many anyway, isn’t bad. Picking up entire groups or settlements and reconstituting them in whole in a totally foreign society is a recipe for friction and disaster.
