High chance that Bama makes the playoff. SMU was NOT guaranteed a spot, just like all the others that played tonight who lost. The committee never said the losers were guaranteed a place.

If they give a spot to Bama and leave SMU out then it will destroy Conference championships

Teams would rather opt out of that game than lose a spot in the playoffs.

I just don’t think it’s worth it

If the committee actually looked at resume and strength of schedule then absolutely

But this committee has made it clear they don’t care about any of that. They’ll have Penn State ranked 6, Tennessee will be 9 and we’ll be going to Columbus

They basically said if you were in you couldn’t get punished. SMU was in before this game. Clemson was out.

Committee basically picks and chooses how they rank teams differently for each team. There is no real common metrics that they use overall.

This committee does not give a crap about any of that. They made it very clear they rank teams where they want them and come up with BS excuses after the fact.

I don’t see them letting us host, not after watching how they’ve ranked teams all season. Just won’t happen

No but there’s an obvious Big 10 bias. If they actually used logical metrics then you’d have seen different rankings the. What we’ve seen all year.

Because if a team loses a conference championship when if they had just not played then they’d be in means it incentivizes teams to just opt out.

You're probably correct, currently. But the committee has assured everyone that playing in your conference championship won't hurt you. If SMU gets dropped out it will be undeniable that isn't true, the first time out.

Boise could be hand waived away because they are group of 5. But, an ACC team sets a precedent. It's a can of worms.

Someone like Lane Kiffin would 100% opt out of championship game to guarantee a playoff birth.

I would bet that he makes the same comments. I've been married 24 years, 15 of them on active duty, and everyone always talked about boots on the porch. I'm surprised if a military wife hasn't heard and seen the shenanigans that go on with young military couples. It's a thing. It doesn't apply to all, but there is a reason we hate our young service members getting married.

Meh.. I think PSU needed to lose by 21+ tonight for that to happen. Although I will say that no one is talking about the fact our resume should be theoretically improved based on the UGA wining the SEC.

I think that only helped us if we had actually won the game.
