Big-12 Expansion

Let's just face facts, the Big 12 is a dying conference. Ten years ago, maybe even as recent as five, Texas had all the power and made the decisions in that conference. And it ate at some members enough to leave. The power recently seems to have shifted to Oklahoma and it's same-same.

But the problem lies in the fact the two biggest names will continue running the conference and in reality none of the other teams have as much to offer another P5 conference as a total package in athletics. Baylor is about it and they are toxic right now. Maybe WVU, TCU and OSU, but even that's a stretch outside of football.

Personally, I'd like to see OSU and WVU move to the SEC. Really don't want Texas or OU.

I 'd still like to see the 4 mega conference setup

The one that lost to a 6-7 team that wouldn't have gone to a bowl otherwise?

For some reason, college football fans are trained to make the loss the top 'tiebreaker' when comparing two one-loss teams. If Okla State's loss was not to one of the better teams they played, then that means they beat the best teams they played against. That's why SOS is based on every game, not just the games you lose.

I'm also admittedly bitter because my computer poll's No. 1 team is 8-2 in the NC game, and one of the losses was 2011, when my computer naturally had LSU at No. 1.

That's a scheduling problem that's fairly easy to overcome.

The only time that might be a problem is during playoff type situations (other than football) and I'm sure BYU would give up a little in that regard.

I don't think they would; hence why they refuse to budge on it.

Hence why they are a dying conference. I have a feeling the Big 12 will go the same way as the Big East did a few years ago.

I wasn't talking about the Big 12; you said you think BYU would give in a little on the Sunday thing, and they won't.

I was talking about tournaments and whatnot. Regular season scheduling you are correct.

They won't budge on tournaments either to my knowledge. They only accept NCAA bids if it's assured they get a Thursday/Saturday slot.
