Big Brother 18 - May the Most Devious SOB Win

I do. My wife use to watch it some. I started to watch it 2 years ago. Got hooked. The tv show doesn't show you everything. I like to find out about all the possible backstabbing and scheming that goes on through out the week.

Do you have to watch it live as it goes or if you want to go back and watch what they were up to this morning can you? Or how does that work?

Honestly, I'm not completely sure how the feeds work. The site I go to tells about all the conversations that are happening on the live feeds.

Question for those who have watched BB for awhile. My wife said the earlier seasons were better than the past few. But she can't really tell me why. Does anyone else think this?

I agree with this assessment.

I started watching around season 10 or so. This year I started watching seasons I hadn't seen. I'm almost all caught up and I'd say the golden age was like season 6 to 14.

The show as a production had a lot of things to figure out and that's why it got better, but then I think the game changed a little bit over time after contestants had learned from watching lots of old BB. There is less diversity in styles of play, it seems. For example, if somebody went back on their word, it used to mean something. You were seen as dirty by basically everyone. Now the "good guys" go back on their word and then shrug and say "that's big brother" and everybody is over it.

I agree with everything Huff said. I also feel like just bad casting has hurt it in recent years. Feels to me like most people just want to get to jury and get as much face time as possible, and if they happen to win great. Like only 15% of the house really plays hard, everyone else just tries to **** ride someone to the finals, often literally.

I also agree this season is off to a great start, I do worry where it goes after Cody is gone. I really hope it doesn't just turn in to slowly eliminating the people not in Pauls group for 5 or 6 weeks.

Huff - Check out BB Canada. Great stuff there. I enjoy both, but the Canada version has some great twists and ways of messing with the players.

I'm almost done with Season 3. Season 5 was earlier this year and is good stuff.

Yeah, and casting has been a problem lately. There have a been a few seasons where the cast was awful.

I don't watch the live feeds, but I have been reading a synopsis of the live feeds online. Apparently the story in the house is that Raven has some kind of terminal illness, along with more than $200K of debt (I'm presuming medical related). If that's the truth (who knows???) then she should be a shoe-in as the winner.

Nah. This isn't charity

True. But there are several that are there for reasons other than the money, and/or they don't need the money, and/or they're human and have sympathy. Enough to have a majority vote.

If I were there competing, I would be in it for the money. I can't say that I "need" the money, but I'm not rich by any means and could certainly use the money. Regardless, I'd rather it go to someone that truly needed it, so that would be how I would play/vote, unless that person was a real a$$hole and impossible to have sympathy or compassion for.

I would go into the house saying to myself I will not accept anyone's sob story. The game isn't about that and they could be 100% lying. People have done this in the past (Survivor and BB). Be nice to them and act like you believe them, but don't let it affect the game.

I've been wondering what was wrong with her. I've seen some houseguests say that if they don't win, they hope she does.

In the same vein of our conversation about older big brother seasons, I just finished season 1 of Survivor....

....I **** you not, the finalist who kicked ass in competitions with an entire alliance in opposition finished the season with this speech:

"I hope you give the money to the best person. I hope you won't judge me on how I played the game, but who I am in real life."

What in the ****?

Not being able to compete in some comps and still being in the house is crap.

Say lit one more time mother ****er.
