Huh?

Why would anyone pay 20$ for 3 games when it's 6$ a game?

I guess so. I would think in the middle of February you will be able to sit whatever you wish

Yeah, lol I don't think it's gonna be a problem.

Hell Bruin, I was trying to do some community service. I saw a flyer posted on CLS' twitter but I couldn't post that one which includes the $20 weekend pass on it. When I went looking for another picture all I could find was this one, but in my searching I also discovered that tickets start at $6, so I included that info as well.

In my best Paul Harvey voice, "and now you know the rest of the story." :) Good Day.

I'm excited to see what the offense looks like under Simcox. Should be an interesting year. Here's to lots of spring sunshine. GBO

UT needs some players to take some big steps early this season.

The two that come to mind primarily are Kyle Serrano and Santiago. I think Senzel will be in the running or SEC Player of the Year so we need to find some bats around him to protect him.

I'd really like to see Jordan Rodgers (Jr.) and Derek Lance (Sr.) step up.

JRog ended up at .278 last year (.262 SEC only), had a good summer .314, no errors in SEC play last year only 1 on the season. If he could get off to a good start that could be a big help.

Lance ended up at .173 which is a step backwards from his .291 BA in 2014. He actually had more RBI's than AJ Simcox in 2014 and 120 less at bats. It's now or never for him.

Throw Jeff Moberg into the now or never camp too. He had a really good summer, but he's had those before, hopefully it will translate. These are guys that have been in the program 3-4 years and I root for guys like these.

On the mound, I'd really like to see Eric Freeman have a good year. He redshirted his Freshman season, pitched one inning in one game last season so it would be nice for a local kid, and a big kid at 6-5, 200, to surprise us this year.

Obviously looking forward to seeing what the freshman and new JUCO's are bringing to the table. Hopefully there will be some good competition in practices leading up to the season.

Roster is sitting at 34 and the season can't get here soon enough.

A lot of what I'm reading & hearing is sounding like Senzel will be the one to lead this team. In the running for "SEC Player of the Year" is a lofty projection. Not that I wouldn't love to see a VOL in that discussion when the season's over. Hope he's up for the challenge. What's your take 66?

Senzel should be mentioned for POY because of his performance in the cape.

One huge problem. He isn't going to see any pitches at all. There is no one to protect him in the lineup and that's a major problem

Scouts are going to pull their hairs out all year

very unconventional however they may want to lead him off then put the next 3 hottest hitters behind him.......

If your looking for the coaching staff's current plan this is a pretty accurate outlook. A lot of this depends on Dathan's eligibility. If he can play he can be really special for us.

RF Chris Hall

CF Dathan Prewett

3B Nick Senzel

1B Jordan Rodgers

LF Vincent Jackson

DH Derek Lance

C Benito Santiago

2B Jeff Moberg

SS Max Bartlett

Starting Rotation

Andy Cox

Hunter Martin

Kyle Serrano

Midweek

Zach Warren

Closer

Jon Lipinski

Dathan Prewett is no longer on the roster...I'll be surprised if two freshman don't get substantial playing time when all is said and done and I expect Langhorne do at least be a factor at SS. Other than that, seems like it could be on point.

That should open a spot for Brodie Leftridge or Bryant Harris. If they don't hit Cammarata could go to 1st and Rodgers back to the outfield. I'm sticking with Bartlett right now at short. Have heard he is defensive whiz.

My take is that Senzel and Cox have leadership qualities the team was missing last year. Stewart, Simcox, Lee and Marks, it was their team last year, but this is Senzel's and Cox's team. If those two meet expectations accolades will follow but it won't come without pressure and adversity.

Agree. You have two great leaders in cox and Senzel. It is a very underestimated team because there is now a lot of SEC experience in both the lineup and pitching staff. I think a lot depends on Martin and Serrano. They both have had ups and downs at UT but they both have electric stuff, a ton of experience and both come off stints at a very competitive Cape Cod league. If they can pitch to their potential you have a strong rotation to go with a lineup that is led by the best hitter in the SEC surrounded by a lot of high on-base percentage guys. Should be a very interesting season. Easier schedule and not a lot of expectations.

It would be great if we could get the good VIncent Jackson for this year. He shows signs of being a good player, and then disappears for series at a time.

When did Jordan Rogers get moved to 1B? Was that an official offseason move or just a prediction?..

I think what Freddie32 implies is that Jordan played pretty well last year and his bat will keep him in the lineup somewhere, he's versatile enough to play anywhere and playing 1st is a good possibility if redshirt freshman Cammarata or true freshman Neal don't hit as well as the more experienced Rogers.

I imagine the position is wide open for the taking at the moment........

Jordan played 1st most of the fall. He also played some outfield. Will come down to whether the young outfielders or first baseman are productive. Jordan will play the position where they aren't.

Any talk on Leno Ramirez? Hoping someone can come in and protect Senzel.

This is one of the more interesting pieces. Ramirez was very impressive in the field at 3B back in the fall. Granted it was an intra squad scrimmage, and it was just one practice. Senzel is going to be the third baseman it appears, so it will be interesting to see what happens with Ramirez.

Daniel Neal looked very good, he was playing 1B, but he got some hits and drew some walks, doesn't look like a freshman out there.

So much we don't know.

There's been a lot of talk in various threads about the weather last year, one thing not mentioned is that it really hurt because the early games are where we get to see the young/new guys and that didn't happen last year, especially difficult with the pitchers.

So, hopefully we can keep from digging a hole so that even the midweek games don't become must win games for RPI sake.
