Bigfoot/Sasquatch/Forest People in Tennessee

He *was* real, but Col. Steve Austin took his arm in the 70's. Turns out Sasquatch was really a bionic robot. There is high quality film of this.

No joke though, if he was real and in East TN, I truly believe that somebody from Happy Valley would have already poached one and hung it on the wall.

Here is a very interesting analysis of the famous Patterson/Gimlin film. This guy, MK Davis has done a fantastic job of digitally analyzing the film with some pretty stunning results!

Don't allow a lot of science to interfere with everyone's preconceived idea of how everything works and what is or isn't possible.

Just as a point of reference - the two most recent sighting that I am aware of are in the Oak Ridge area on government land and on the outskirts of Lake Tellico near Vonore -- please let me know if you are aware of any others. Thanks,

I would need a little more specificity. I know Tellico lake has had a recent sighting - Citico creek area always has activity. A police report in Crossville, Oliver Springs, the Smokies, etc. etc. long and lat would help and recent activity is always preferable to something from a while back. Your parents likely didn't misidentify anything - there are sighting every day - some made public - most not. If you don't mind asking them exactly where there sighting was and when it occurred I would appreciate it. Thanks,

My father always called the spot on the river The Parch Corn shoals. Not sure if it's the official name or just a local one. There's a small island where the river forks fairly hard before rejoining. Impossible to miss landmark wise.

As far as time frame? Like mid 2000s.

How many people witnessed it again? How long was it witnessed? Anything else of note?

In the big south fork area there is a sasquatch like creature that is known by the locals as a "haint" (Hayne-t) or the Hurricane Haint by others (because it shows up more often after big storms).

I know both of my parents have claimed to see it at night while on the big south fork river, as well as about ten others who were with them at the time, and neither are superstitious or normal believers in things like that. They claimed it was around 6'5 or so, black full body hair like an ape, and that it appeared to wave at them before running off.

hope that helps a bit.

Were they camping out - at a party? how credible were the 10 witnesses?

I killed a hog at parch corn creek mouth and shoals 4 years ago. I know the area well and if you reference my earlier post, is exactly where I heard the 4 loud splashes one minute apart at 2 am.

4 loud splashes? Pretty sound evidence.

Honestly. I am no Bigfoot conspiracy theorist and that night was the only time I have ever questioned the idea of Bigfoot. I still can't explain it and I have never seen beaver in the shallow shoals of the south fork river.

I told a buddy about what we heard and he is a big BFRO guy. He stated that Bigfoot/Sasquatch supposedly throws rocks and limbs. I have no idea but I tell people I had an encounter for fun.

My father always claimed that place was a little weird. We camped near there all the time to fish when I was younger.

As far as I know, the people there were my parents, my aunt and uncle, and several of their friends. I'm sure some of them were drinking, but I know my mother wasn't. I'll ask her about it the next time I see her.

It is beautiful back there. Ive been back there plenty of times. Camped on Station Camp , near Parch Corn and up at the mouth of No Business near the ole Boyett Homestead.

I would guess there are beaver in every river in Tennessee. They slap their tails on the water and it sounds just like a big rock getting thrown into the water.

The really slap their tails on the water? I never knew that. Thanks.

Yep. Not sure if you're serious or just messing with me but I'll answer anyway. Once I was fishing and I thought some kids were throwing rocks off a bluff down into the river. Finally realized it was a beaver. If you fish the Holston or French Broad you'll see them and if you get close they usually do the tail slap thing.

I was messing with you. It was no beaver in the shoals. It makes sense to think beaver when you hear a splash but never in the shallows and rapids of the south fork river. I'm not yelling squatch but I and my fellow outdoorsman camping/ hunting cannot figure it out.
