Bigfoot/Sasquatch/Forest People in Tennessee

ah, well then we are clearly not speaking of the same 'incident'. I saw on tv a few years ago a special debunking a lot of the different video 'evidence' of BF, thought you might have been referring to one of those clips.

No sir. This was a special that I watched on the discovery channel. No video. Just their words.

There is a 911 call as of late where a man and woman called in stating they were being attacked by a Bigfoot. It had them trapped in their car. The car was destroyed and they did survive.

The the Barry Goldwater range in the middle of phoniex?

I had to go back and look it up but yes, triangulation of video tapes (there were several) put the actual position of the lights as corresponding with the military range. I think this was done by more than one person but most notably by Bruce Maccabee.

I find it infinitely more feasible to believe in extraterrestrial life than a Bigfoot. Did they crash on earth or any if the other hoaxes? Not so sure.

So, I'm guessing the scene was full of fresh forensic evidence that is currently being vetted by an independent lab? Cause that'd be very encouraging.*

*I'm not even being sarcastic...if not a hoax then this would be a genuine opportunity for discovery.

agreed, if the thing beat up a car it would have left behind dna

Definitely not a bear or anything else.

When you consider just how much the North American population has increased over the centuries and just how much colonization, deforestation, etc has occurred since then, it would only make sense that a species like Bigfoot would have been pushed into a much more concentrated area of living. When you factor that in along with what would almost certainly be a substantial increase in their numbers, not to mention technological advances in video capture technology, surveillance technology, etc. It only stands to reason that if these things did in fact exist, we would have discovered them by now. It's not like these things reside in a region populated by primitive tribes.
I'm not sure why everyone thinks their population should have increased significantly. In fact, it would be the opposite. With loss of habitat and easily available food, that would work against them and cause their numbers to dwindle. IF big foots are real, one would assume that their reproduction habits would be like that of all great apes. Female gorillas don't reproduce until around the age of 10, and 15 for males. Females care for their single offspring until about the age of 4. 30% of them die in their first year. They usually only reproduce around 4 times their entire life. I think all of this is a great example as to why there wouldn't be a large population of bigfoots.

That's a good point.

You know, I'm not sure. I'll do some checking.

I'm caught up in the commercial airliner getting shot down right now though.

In any given location this might be true but, and I've focused on this before as I see it as one of the more problematic aspects, considering the supposed range of BF (apparently the whole of NA) there should be plenty of room for increased populations. Populations of practically everything else have risen. (deer have become a flat out invasive nuisance in many areas) California is certainly a state known for high human population density yet their black bear population has doubled since the eighties.

Basically I'm just a tad dubious of making an assumption about uniform population decrease across a range that includes all of NA that doesn't coincide with any great depletion of other native species. (deer/bear/hogs) Of course, speculation about an animal I can't prove exists at all makes things a bit iffy.

Coach Grizz hit a Sasquatch one night in Alabama, said she gave him the wildest ride he ever had. He may have went back for seconds, he hasn't been online for a while.

LOL! I can't believe we went this long without a "Grizz would hit it." post.

And what do you think?

There are conflicting opinions - Some of the more unusual and elusive theories or opinions - I typically try to avoid commenting on - unless I have first hand experience. The descended from Cain information that I have comes second hand from a Washington state source. I would neither rule it in or out at this time personally.

I think to a degree when you are talking about this subject - it can be challenging - because it is outside everyone's preconceived expectations and their personal experiences and observations of how the world operates.

The question is legit but was trying to understand how someone could be dogmatic about the issue... seeing it could be presented as a theory perhaps but no known way (by me at least) to validate it

Here is a very interesting analysis of the famous Patterson/Gimlin film. This guy, MK Davis has done a fantastic job of digitally analyzing the film with some pretty stunning results!
