First, after having talked to this gentlemen - did you get the impression that he was making things up or relaying ancient rumors or stories or that he genuinely believed what he was telling you?
Most of what he has conveyed to you is consistent with what I have been told by Native Americans and others but there is much more to the story and it is changing by the day. One of my contacts is from the Cherokee nation - but she is from the Western Band.
I believe he was being 100% sincere with everything he said. Obviously a lot of the stuff he talked about was "ancient stories" past down from generation to generation, but I got the impression he genuinely believed them. He claimed to of seen bigfoot twice his entire life. He said both circumstances was during a 5 day period back in 1976. The way he told the story made it so vivid in my mind. I could see every little detail as he described it.
Smoking the peace pipe will do that while thing stories.
Probably peyote. I spent a few days lost in the desert after too much peyote. Saw some crazy stuff. There was a coyote chasing a road runner. That coyote would take dynamite and try to blow up the road runner. He tried to drop a safe on him. No matter what though it backfired. He blew himself up over and over but was ok every time. He dropped a huge safe off a cliff on himself and he was still ok. At one point he was driving a big truck trying to run down the road runner and drove head on into a stone wall and walked away. Damnedest thing I ever saw. Finally an armadillo came along. We burned one and discussed what I had witnessed then he led me back to town. I have seen armadillo, coyote and road runner tracks and clear pictures of each so Im pretty sure all that happened.
I have spent a year networking across the country with the top experts in this field. ( There really are no experts but you get my drift ) (keep in mind just a hobby - a couple of them have written books ) I have probably 50 people that i consult with, a good percentage of whom are Native American in remote areas, many are from families that have had multi - generational experience with the Forest People. These people have no agenda and their sole interest is to protect these people. I have tracked down and talked to eyewitnesses. I have at least 4 friends who see and interact with them on a weekly basis, unfortunately they are in Washington, Texas, Texas, and Pennsylvania.

I was driving to work last week and there was a dead deer on the side of the road - probably 20 vultures working over that one body. There wasn't going to be much of it left in very short order.

Again his stories are very consistent with what I have been told and have seen. I think you would agree that he believed everything that he was telling you. I am looking for contacts among the Eastern Band - who are either familiar with recent sightings or with tee pee ish structures or man made ish structures, X's, other branches that form almost a letter or sign on the ground, prints, etc. You might see if your friend could point me toward someone who has recent activity. Thanks,
