yeah, i don't want anyone to get the idea that Florida doesn't matter or anything...oh, trust me, it does. but my hatred for Bama goes back about 10 years further than it does for Florida...that's all.

Interesting. I have been a Bama fan for almost 40 years. Tennessee has never been on my list of Rivals, just another SEC we play. Can you explain why Tenn/Bama is considered a Rivalry?

if you don't know, it's not worth trying to explain...i would have a hard time believing your crimson bretheren would say that TN is not a significant rival of the tide. I would think you would be in the minority on that....and don't worry, we know how big a rivalry Bama/Auburn is...

Huh?? :eek:hmy: That would be the first time I've ever heard a confessed bammer not think UT is a rival.

Hummmm... take away the recent hated for your coach and what do you have? Just another SEC game. UT maybe a conference rival, but what team isn't in the SEC, but the point of my question is why is Bama your biggest rival? There is no in state connection, etc... So why?

I believe you believe TN isn't big rival. But here are many Bama fans who out number who feel the same way many on this board do. How the teams feel about one another along with the fans makes up a big part of it. I remember during my years at UT the articles that flow back and forth about players talking smack to one another. Its when the teams just don't like each other is when the rivals are big. And... Bama and UT players fit that mold.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one.

Are you serious??? Look back at the history. But your age and knowledge may play a huge role in this topic.

How old are you? 10?

The game is called the 3rd Saturday in October for a reason. UT has beaten bammer more than ANY other team. Bammer has beaten UT more than any other team. the Bear used to say that you judged your team by how they did against UT and Gen Neyland the same about bammer. People who know football call it one of the purest true rivalries in all of sports.
