Bilas has pretty much nailed this entire fiasco for the past few months!

Baseball and football have also gone to ruin under his watch, and obviously this basketball business.
I don't really blame him for football as much as most do. I may blame him more for not doing a good enough job picking things up, but not for the drop off in the first place.

If Hamilton's job was in danger, we would know it by now. Interesting that so many support Pearl with all his problems, but feel that Hamilton should be fired. Hamilton really didn't cause the NCAA violations and short of staying with Pearl 24/7 had no real way of preventing him from being the scum bag that he is.

Didnt realize lying to the ncaa doomed a person to scumbagdom. I do agree that its not really hammys fault. Bad timing but not his fault.

We were not in bad shape in football when he took the reigns.

Aren't the three main things he is responsible for

1. Football
2. Basketball

3. Baseball?

Yes, but going from Delmonico to Raleigh absolutely killed the program.

I know that Fulmer's roots to the program and ties to everybody in town made the situation desperately difficult, but the contract extension and subsequent botch job trying to run him out of town was atrocious.

I respect that Hamilton has done a great job funding athletics for the university, but there's no denying that men's sports have gone to absolute mediocrity under his watch.

This is the point I was trying to make, although to be accurate you need to add the phrase "under investigation" in there somewhere.

I successfully conveyed my thoughts and didn't even have to use the phrases "under investigation" or "Lane Kiffin."

Yeah but when an AD gets lucky that a coach left, that's not a ringing endorsement that you're a good AD. Like I said, Jimmy Sexton makes him his ***** when it comes to contracts.

This. The buy out clause in Kiffin's contract was an absolute JOKE. Way to go hammy.

I don't see how anyone could argue Hammy's job. The guys a tool and needs to be shown the door. If it wasn't for his fund raising, look how much I got you, pretty sure he woulda been kicked out a long time ago.

I hereby officially deny that men's basketball has gone to absolute mediocrity under the watch of Hamilton.

Fyi, I'm not a Hamilton supporter. But, milo, going forward, can you try to not say stupid shyt? That'd be great. Thanks.

I agree if pearl is gone he is gone but let the kids enjoy the tournament. But that jerk had to open his mouth unprofesionally.

Fulmer got lazy and complacent and gets canned - so some on here blame MH. Delmonico thought classes were for others and not his players and gets run off - so that's MH's fault as well. We would rather have the team have less scholarship players. Kiffin leaves in the middle of the night with no warning to take his dream job - MH hired the wrong guy after firing Fulmer, who should not have been fired even with hugely declining attendance and losing records because he was a UT guy. Pearl does good until he decides to lie and cheat and now is about to lose his job - MH's fault again. I really don't know how, but that's what a bunch of folks are saying.

So MH is really George Bush in disguise with a 'kick me" sign on his back - right?

to do it. He inherited Fulmer. He also hired Pearl, who's been a major success here. Hammy isn't perfect but he's been a good AD all things considered.

Fire them both, problem solved

What did Hamilton do wrong re: Kiffin, besides hire him in the first place?

I thought the same thing. Everyone loved Kiffin til he bolted. Its not Hamilton's fault the USC job became available, and Kiffin is a Cali. guy, therefore left.

It's a joke that these kids have been subjected to what Pearl did all year, and finally when we are starting to get away from Pearl's name being mentioned in regards to the NCAA letter and can focus a little more on the big tournament, the idiotic AD goes public and brings it all back up. How fair is that to the kids? Why not put the focus back on him rather than letting Tobias and other players enjoy this tournament experience.

yep

I think many (me included) supported Kif because he was our coach. Many folks never "loved" the guy..

Kif had things running kind of like a circus and many could see through his facade... Hamilton should have kept him under control.. The fact that the USC job was open and he left is probably going to save us from harsher NCAA penalties... Hamilton got lucky on this one or he would really be about to lose his job

Plus, a lot of people liked Kif's dad and O more than him.

R u serious??

He's brought about face lifting all of our facilities (some that hadn't been touched since Regan was in office), Raised a ton of money, and kept our athletic department out of the red during a time when more successful athletic departments were in the red.

Its not his fault Bruce is an idiot.
