The idea that science and creationism are supposedly mutually exclusive is maddening to me.

I like how he tries to say stop living in a fantasy land as politely as possible.

Then begs for those in fantasy land to not hold their children back.

We've had several threads on it already but what is the science behind creationism?

I loved Bill Nye when I was in middle school. I am not surprised he is "godless" but I am surprised that he is liberal. He always seemed too smart to be liberal.

I don't think he's claiming any, I think he's saying if intelligent design is real then God used evolution to create the world, and the two are not mutually exclusive.

Creationism doesn't exclude science.

However, science does exclude creationism (from a Biblical standpoint).

I don't see any problem with someone reconciling the discoveries of science by saying "that's just how God got it done". Usually, "Creationist" tend to discount evolution as a whole. I've never seen someone defend ID by acknowledging TNS.

exactly what I'm talking about. Why do Christians have to be boxed into not being able to interpret Genesis anyway other than literally?

I could care less about IQ, prejudice, and liberal vs conservative. It is a ruse.

The connection between IQ and being liberal or conservative is debatable. I have seen studies that indicate each side has a higher IQ; although most seem to give a slight edge to conservatives.

From my own life experience standpoint, conservatives/libertarians have the highest IQ. However, that is just my experience.

Evolution, Creationism, Intelligent Design

Because of the 46% that hold on to the belief that god flipped a life switch. And why has that number gone up the past 2 years? That's scary.

I love when liberals start pointing out how dumb conservatives are when they disagree with science. 1) Scientific consensus has been wrong on a number of occasions, including on the question of whether or not blacks had the capacity to be in the same classroom as whites. 2) Liberals tend to disagree with science when it suits their world view (safety of nuclear energy, pesticides, etc.).

I would say it is because the loudest Christians who b*tch about evolution in schools tend to be the same Christians who claim dinosaur bones are a test of faith by God or they build million dollar museums with children riding on the backs of dinosaurs as if they are horses.

It is sad that those Christians who do not fall into that category are perceived as being just as crazy due to the antics of the fervent Christians.

I'd like to see those. A casual 5 page google search showed zero that gave an edge to conservatives.

The whole debate has (IMHO) been perverted by both sides so much so that it's impossible to have an intellegent debate.

No one can convince me that we "evolved" from the apes, if so when and why did it stop? Not to mention there is ZERO eveidence for this.

What I believe is God put us, or versions of us (and animals) on Earth and from the original species we have evolved.

1) Who ever said it stopped?
2) Visit the Smithsonian Natural History museum and you will see plenty of evidence.

Who cares what the IQ of each party is? It's clear nobody is smart enough to make the ideal world, so let's just quit with all this social engineering bullshiz, at home and abroad. We are smart, but not smart enough to know how full of **** we are.
