Where is the Ark?

Never said I believe in the literal Ark.

I do not belive in the literal bible, he!! Captain Kirk could have put humanity on the planet for all I know. Wouldn't he be classified as a higher being (god)?

But in no way shape or form has it been proven we decended from the ape. If we did it would still be happening today.

The whole debate has (IMHO) been perverted by both sides so much so that it's impossible to have an intellegent debate.

No one can convince me that we "evolved" from the apes, if so when and why did it stop? Not to mention there is ZERO eveidence for this.

What I believe is God put us, or versions of us (and animals) on Earth and from the original species we have evolved.

Your premise (that somehow this has stopped) is unbelievably flawed, and to say that there is zero evidence is just a lie.

exactly what I'm talking about. Why do Christians have to be boxed into not being able to interpret Genesis anyway other than literally?

Because an alarming number of them do interpret it literally, especially in this part of the country.

Please, where is it? The missing link, the jump from ape to even early human has never been found or proven.

My MIL is one of those and it kills me she is so narrow minded. Just as bad as those who "know" all life on earth evolved out of ooze. Niether can support their position.

The missing link is a myth that has been propagated by religious leaders for years. Tons of links have been found.

As with most things, Wikipedia is a good starting point if you would like to delve further into this

No thanks, trying to debate a 100% evolutionist is no better than a 100% creationist. Niether have proof and both know they are right.

I assure you, there are many people who are quite adept at supporting their position as it pertains to evolution. I mean no offense, but you shouldn't ignore the evidence when it is presented and then say "but there is no evidence." There is plenty of it, if you are willing to wade through it.

This is exactly what I am talking about. Again, I mean no offense, but you are taking the position of willful ignorance and then claiming that one side lacks evidence. That's just not true.

There is no more PROOF of the type of evolution you are talking about than there is of the 7 day Genisis version. Yes I do believe species adapt to their surroundings but not ape to human.

There is no proof that gravity exists either. It's a theory. Asking for proof is simply resigning yourself to ignorance.

People just have a hard time reconciling how something can be true without being meant literally. Allegory and nuance don't get preached a lot.

It's one of the reasons I call bull**** whenever people talk about things like philosophy being worthless. If more people were taught to think critically, they would be more capable of understanding, especially when it comes to religion.

Of course, I'm an atheist, so what do I know?

People who say ignorant things like: "I refuse to believe that we went from monkey to human!" don't understand evolution.

They picture a monkey giving birth to a human, or they picture a monkey all the sudden turning into a human, which is not what evolution is at all.

Evolution is divergent (meaning the same species in different environments can turn into 2 separate species over millions of years) based on species' environment and natural selection. Evolution does not say a monkey gave birth to humans, it says apes and humans have a common ancestor and then, the 2 separate species diverged from each other. Watch these videos and you will understand how evolution works.

I have spent many hours pointing out the gaping holes in the THEORY of evolution in this forum. Beyond variation in species ( which is biblical) and some micro examples there is absolutely no concrete evidence evolution has ever occurred. By this I mean abiogenesis. If you believe you came from "rock wash" and against astronomical odds an infinite amount of times proteins lined up in exactly the right order to produce even a single strand of dna then you are an idiot. It takes far more faith to believe that everything around you came to be as a complete accident...from nothing...then it does to believe God created this universe. Good luck trying to get an evolutionist to use the word "faith" though. They are scared to death that if they're honest enough to admit their theory requires faith that they will be mocked by their peers. ...hey look VN...used "there, their, and they're" properly in the same post...and I'm not even smart enough to be a liberal! Morons.

So evolution is alive and well on the micro level but is a myth on the macro level. Got it.

Sometimes I believe fervent Christians, such as yourself, are intentionally trolling the rest of us (both in life and on VN).

apparently we are idiots because we acknowledge that on a long enough time line, the probability of pretty much everything approaches 1.

also, I am ******ned tired of people who believe that invisible sky spirit created the world in six days calling other people idiots when they don't even know what a scientific theory is. Hey marcus, invest in an education, because it is obvious that you need it.

Standing offer, if marcus can use real science and not invoke religion to construct an argument that actually pokes holes in evolutionary theory (since he claims he can do that), I will send him 50 dollars through paypal
