As a coach, I think he'd be a great get! As a recruiter, I'm admittedly curious about him just because of how bad of a GM he was in Houston. They did him wrong by not having a true GM in there, but some of his personnel decisions made me wonder if he is able to identify talent.

He demanded to be the GM there. He wasn’t done wrong there. He got exactly what he asked for.

What has he done to be objectively better than Freeze? Literally nothing.

He saved Penn State football. That wasn’t James Franklin. What has freeze done besides run ole miss into the ground and then look like an XFL coach on a hospital bed?

He got a lot of kids to come to State when they didn’t have to. He’d stabilize the program but I doubt he’d get us anything note worthy

Were stable right now. Not really bouncing around in the cellar of the SEC. So, we don't need him.

Yeah, I don’t get the Freeze hype at all. He had a losing record in SEC play and his best team at Ole Miss lost to Memphis and Arkansas. His record isn’t much better than that of Butch Jones.

$18 million
His current buyout is 60% of the remaining new contract which goes into affect 1/31/21. The remaining contract runs through 2025 and is = to $4,200,000 x 5 = $21,000,000 x 60% = $12,600,000 buyout if fired today.

It decreases as the remaining amount decreases.

Also of contract note, if he's employed on 2/15/2021 he gets a $200,000 retention bonus

He did not take the pay increase for 2020 as many thought. It starts next season.
