I just tend to agree with democrats more than the gop on most issues and I know that this country is nothing more than a 2 party country.Plus somebody is always going to be in a position of power atleast with government I can pretend to have some sort of say at the election booth.

so to be a citizen, you have to have worked for the government first... No thanks. We don't need more government, which is what we would have in effect. The power should be from individuals TO the government, not the other way around.

The Starship Troopers model is actually quite socialist, just a militant brand of socialism. No thanks.

OE, as a complete aside, and without any regard whatsoever to our points of agreement and disagreement, the undelrigned italics in red makes it really hard to read your posts.

I believe Karl Marx said that would be the downfall of democracy. Once individuals discover that they can vote in politicians that return the favor with handouts, he believed the system would implode. He may be exactly right. I can't imagine 50 to 100 years ago Americans would have believed the number of people that are dependant on the government today.

A quick occupation poll always shocks me at how many people are directly and indirectly tied to government employment or service, which means they are not generating capital in the economy.

this isn't necessarily true. Sikorsky is definitely generating capital by building helicopters for the US Army.

This is definitely your arena of knowledge so set me straight, but while the helicopter is capital, what economic input does a standing military do? It seems like it would be a money pit that the government pays into through taxes and borrowing, from the helicopter to it's crew. While the manufacturing company does generate capital, that capital is locked up afterward.

if you are a worthless bum and are a dredge on our society, you should not be a citizen, the new zealand model fits best, if you dont contribute, you cannot come in

I have a question. If you are a citizen of another country and in an airplane flying over US airspace when you go into labor and deliver the child. Is that child now a US citizen by being born in US airspace or over the continental US?

I don't think it would be unless the plane landed in the US, mother and child taken to a US hospital and the baby is issued a certificate of live birth.

I'm curious, what if you come into the country a productive citizen, but then become legitimately disabled. Since you are no longer productive, drawing a government check funded by workers therefor making you a "dredge" on society, do you get deported?

that person would not be a dredge, they were productive and deserve the right to be taken care of, plus thats what disability insurance is for as well

Disability insurance is little more than legalized theft.

So is welfare. If they just regulated both better those that didn't deserve either wouldn't get it. Quote OE "government failure" sums it up.

Capitalism is driven not only by producing goods, but the people who purchase those goods as well. Most military towns are in a much better condition than they were before because of the influx of money brought on by the military stationed there. Think of it as guaranteed tourism.
