Bitcoin, Cryptocurrency, and the Future of Global Finance

I was serious in my query. McMom would like to know where to find that info.

I was serious in that it has utility as a way to keep the wife away from the funds. But separate bank/brokerage accounts accomplish the same thing as long as tax returns are filed as Married-Separate.

The government is not going to ignore trading profits. Any exchange hiding those transactions will be under attack as money launderers. There will be some interesting legislation to be considered. Right now you pretty much have to convert crypto back to dollars to use it to put gas in your car or food on the table. Someday you will be able to make those small purchases directly with crypto so the IRS can’t really have a realized gain to tax… even though the currency could appreciate it would be spent also in the form of crypto without conversion. It has the potential to replace government minted currency and credit card transactions but the massive transferring of wealth will be closely watched.

Crypto isn’t going away. My reservation is with the speculative bidding up of the crypto names. Nobody has exclusivity. Bitcoin in its current form has a cap on the number of coins. But Bitcoin 2.0 through Bitcoin 100.0 through Bitcoin infinity.0 is not limited.

“The DJIA is overvalued”.

The DJIA hasn’t quite had 2 doubles in 25 years. 6% year isn’t exactly stratospheric returns.

Stock markets have been around for centuries. Double entry accounting systems have been around for well over a thousand years. But the entire system of investing in regulated securities is about to collapse so put all of your wealth into unregulated, unlimited monetary alternatives. Their values have soared recently largely due to their autonomy from government intrusion. Never mind that their utility as a store of wealth is being exploited by worldwide criminal operations… the .gov won’t be stepping in and going after that ability to hide wealth.

I wonder at what point in this chart Elon Musk will tweet how awesome XRP is?

I am going out on a limb and say after he packs his portfolio.

I was with you until you went there.

The currency of Vietnam has utility as it can be used to settle transactions with other countries… such as North Korea. But I’m not sticking any dongs or wons in my portfolio anytime soon.

Meet Rosie Rios ex Treasurer of the United States.

So the last of the "next" generation of 100 dollar notes was released in 2014.

So she announced in 2014 her next job will be working on the next generation of money. Was this plan moving full steam ahead 7 years ago?

So you are saying that you are concerned about the facilitation of criminal activity?
I'm saying that is a scare tactic used by the "establishment" to attack cryptos. And I'm not a crypto guy.

It is clear by a large margin that the most preferred currency by criminals of all stripes is the US Dollar... not some damn cryptos.

Based on what you have, I bet you'd be interested in taking a look at AAVE, LINK, XLM, UNI, and Polka Dot.

Don’t overlook that on every spin of a roulette wheel there is 47.37% chance of doubling your money by picking red or black or even or odd.
