Black jerseys to be auctioned (merged)

“Black Lives Matter” has become a colloquialism for “anything that will help the black community”. What’s the big deal if they find an appropriate cause, wear a special jersey and auction them off to willing buyers who know exactly what they are donating to? People act as if somebody has a gun to their head telling them to give $100 to Louis Farrakhan if they ever want to see football again.
Can't support it in any way, apparently gay folks are trying to push the gay agenda. First it was frogs, now who knows?

Black Lives Matter has nothing to do with black lives. It is a LGBTQ/DNC/Soros funded organization.

Exactly and this Robert whatever clown on here arguing isn't a Vols fan, he is a militant socialist hack trying to create division and chaos. Probably an intentional plant by some Soros funded group.

If Soros and his $$ disappeared tonight the average American would be stunned to see how little of this is truly about CV-19 or black lives and how much of it is about power and politics.

Well that is a more complicated question. Are people affiliated with the university not supposed to speak about or support anything? Does that extend to students as well? Also seems there is some disagreement on what exactly the charity jersey thing will be supporting. Might be best to wait for further clarification from UTAD, but that's just me.
I think further clarification is needed. The article I read said they were in discussions with the kids about what they were going to do but still developing ideas.

Nah, this is clearly a deep state Soros plot by some super scary evil West Coast gays to infiltrate Tennessee athletics and destroy it from with in. Get with the program, Comrade.

He was shot in the back while running away. The officers had his license and car. Officer also shot a nearby car with people in it. That is the legal definition of reckless.

Did he turn, point at and then shoot a lethal weapon at the officer before he got shot in return?

This thread has taught me a lot about volnation.com. Some of you, who I think are a vocal minority, only care about the UTAD as long as these athletes walk a strict line and align themselves with the way you think. You don’t really care about their feelings thoughts or them as people. Well I am glad to see that they don’t care anymore about what you think of them. You all can disagree with the Black Jersey supporting Black Lives Matter but it is still going to happen. Kick, scream belly ache all you want to, it won’t change the fact that this team has found it’s voice and Coach Pruitt is allowing them to express it, freely and openly. I absolutely love it! So get on board or go kick rocks! Goodnight and Go Vols!
I don’t support racism and that’s all that this black uniform is stating in my opinion!!

Tell that to the family of the people killed when he collides with them head on, on the way home. "We were going to catch up to him later."

THP: Brentwood Police officer killed in crash after female driver crossed center lines

Brentwood Police Officer Destin Legieza, a five-year veteran with the department, was killed in the crash on Franklin Road near the end of his shift.

Tennessee Highway Patrol said a young woman traveling northbound on Franklin Road crossed the center lines and struck Legieza's cruiser. The woman is being treated at the hospital, the extent of her injuries is unknown.

I'll say this and quit. It's getting too chippy in here.

This will create a divide in the locker room. Witness Mizzou in 2015, when they went from 11-3 in '14 to 5-7 in '15. Ferguson was the catalyst, and there were credible reports of a division in the locker room. Up to that point, Mizzou had been a rising power in the SEC East. Now, no more. Yes, the HC change may have had an effect, but they had the same HC in 2015 that they had in 2014. What happened?

Now, look at Texas, Iowa...and potentially UT. Maybe more before the season starts, or is over.

Whether this ends up being a crack in the driveway, or a serious fault in the foundation remains to be seen, but as we all know, a house divided against itself cannot stand, and this will divide the House of UT...including the football team. Heck, just look here. We came in here united as UT fans, and now it's the Hatfields and McCoys, SEC-style.

I hope I'm wrong. I fear I'm not. I think UT Football was on the brink of doing great things again.

I look forward to saying "Go Vols" again. But for now, I'm waiting to see what the Vols stand for.

Yawn. This is ridiculous. If anything this could bring the locker room closer together. I've seen plenty of white football players expressing their support on Twitter for their fellow black teammates. From Parker Ball to Cooper Mays, these kids are unifying over their love of their fellow teammates. There is no divide.

Too many people in this thread are laser-focused on the "Black Lives Matter/ActBlue" organization and not the actual point behind the original slogan "Black Lives Matter." These young adults are feeling hurt, frustrated, angry, and potentially scared. They're "unpaid" amateur athletes who are trying to utilize the limited platform they have to make change in the world. I applaud that.

At the end of the day, I think too many on this forum forget that the young men wearing the orange and white are people and not just pawns for our entertainment.

so who will it be Tennesseefan2019? You going UGA? Bama? UF? Other? Or will you try and get this liberal coach fired for giving voice and power to the voices of young black men?
I have yet to see anyone trying to silence voices of players or get coaches fired.
I understand they are still in this dialogue about what they are going to do and Tee will lead the group. I'm excited about the black jerseys and the charity work. I just think that part of the kids education should be checking out the charities, their foundations, how much admin cuts off the top and how much actually gets to those who need help. It's good to encourage charity work in young people and foster a sense of community. Teach them all the ins and outs also. Don't leave them frustrated with an uninformed choice with bad consequences.
That being said I think Pruitt and T are the men to do this.

It's not hate. It's just a stating a fact.

Again, I'm sorry.

Wish I could find the video of all the LGBTQ signs during a BLM rally a few years ago. I was stunned. It was also an anti- protest. I forgot what they were protesting at the time. Whatever the latest was they were furious about. Maybe it was Trump winning the election. They have seemed to put most of them away now and has gotten smarter. They are also anti-capitalist.

So folks that support BLM can't support LGBTQ+ rights as well? Did you skip all the beliefs of BLM before they even mentioned LGBTQ+ rights? You are reaching.
BLM actually stands for Black Leftists Matter. It exists to push a Marxist agenda while hiding behind black people
