It seems fitting that you would buy Luth a beer that meshes well with his political discussions.

He would probably just show me on the continuum where it says .. since I have enough money to buy him one , then I should buy everybody in the place one . That would be the recommended positive influence I should have on our society . Lol

Well, it's like this, if you get Luth to the bar, get his tin foil hat off, have the bartender put sports on and not show CNN, then you'd probably have a pretty good time chasing beers with him.

Perhaps but if we're talking about state run care then it can't just be a bottomless well. Isn't that one of those evil entitlements I'm always hearing about?

What about babies born premature or otherwise with problems that will be there the rest of their lives ... many quite expensive? What about some 85 year olds who are more physically fit and productive members of society than a 50 yo? Socialized medicine was the national debate topic my Sr year in HS - the arguments haven't changed. It didn't make sense then; it doesn't make sense now. However, on a positive note euthanasia (by proxy) for Nancy and a bunch of other congressional geriatrics sounds promising.

Insurance behaves in the exact same way. They don't make money by paying claims
You've signed a contract with insurance that legally obligates them to pay valid claims. They arent the arbiter of who deserves the payout based on anything but the coverage and contract. That contract cannot be altered without consent of both parties. So the situation of determining the value of an operation based on age, sex, life threatening or inconvenience doesnt exist as long as it is medically relevant(even some cosmetic is covered). Those metrics are not used with insurance and it's a good thing. With a government system, those metrics can be used and I know for a fact are used in England.

@Purple Tiger
Oncologists not "fighting cancer" as rigorously with the elderly because of age is not entirely accurate without the context of operations/transplants being too cumbersome/deadly for alot of those patients.

If right wing media is digging up things from 4 years ago, that can only mean that Bloomberg is rising in the polls. Even taken at face value, this is pretty old stuff.
BUt I guess it doesn't matter since he has a "D" after his name, amirght?
