He has never had a losing season at Nebraska. His teams have finished 1st or tied for 1st in their division 4 out of 5 seasons. He makes less than 3 million a year and they play good defense. He has coached in the SEC as a DC at LSU.

He's from Big 10 country. Nebraska is a pretty good job, with a pretty winnable division every year. I think he would view it as a downgrade to come here.

Not saying he's a bad coach, because he seems to be a good one, but he's Muschamp-Lite on the intensity scale.

Not every coach is looking for the easiest path in all they do. Some guys do not shy away from a challenge. Would a million dollar raise make a guy think it over? I think he would be a solid choice if he likes a challenge.

Not so big on Bo....

but you made he think....

Why not go after muschump again. Last time, we had a mess and he said no. But we in better shape now. And Flordia aint paying him anything. ANd his buyout is only like $100,000....

Frankly, that strikes me as a good thing. Intensity is one thing, but Mushcamp often comes across like a rabid dog. And it is not an absolute prerequisite for coaching success. I don't think that anyone would characterize the mild-mannered, soft-spoken, serious Tom Landry as anything less than an outstanding coach.

I think Muschamp would be a good option as well. He has UF playing well and he did not ask for 5 years to get it done. I think he makes around 2.75 a year. I would like to add the relationships he has built in Florida to our recruiting. Not sure he would make a lateral move unless we offered big time money. With that said, I am not sure he would be worth 4 million + at this point in his coaching career.

Nebraska fans have a very love/hate relationship with the guy.

It's a downgrade for him to come here, honestly.

I think it would be a crap hire. But its Gruden. It's done. So no worries.

Bo is a Big Ten guy. He played at OSU and most in the Big Ten circle think that he'd only be interested in leaving Nebraska if the OSU job opened up.

Not to mention, his offense would get stepped on in the SEC. Just look at what the top defenses in the Big Ten have done with his offense the past two seasons.

I don't believe that it is Gruden.

(1) If it is Gruden, then why are they waiting to announce it?

(2) If it is Gruden, then why hve other coaches been contacted? If Gruden said "Yes", then why contact other candidates?

I just don't believe it.....Too good to be true....

I am going to expect the hire of Jones from Cincinnati and if he doesn't come here, then any other hire would definately be an upgrade from hiring him..... I won't be disappointed....

Bo Pellini? not high on my list. Muschamp? Hell no. This guy looks like the biggest prick in CFB. I would also take his success at FLA with a grain of salt/reality. FLAs last 5 Rivals recruiting classes #3,#11,#2,#12,#3. When Driskel plays well, they look like a team full of 4 and 5 stars, when not, they look like a team lucky to beat Missouri. If UT had FLAs speed on D, we beat Missouri by 4 TDs.

Good points, but the opposite could be said as well. If not Gruden, why hasn't he denied interest? If he takes a college job it almost certainly will be UT I think. Why hasn't he come out and said he isn't interested in college coaching? It can't be for leverage as any pro team will pay higher than college anyway. I think he is considering it, but is at best 50/50. The only reason I can see that he has not stated he is not interested in college coaching (other than he is interested) is the fact that he may feel commenting on college coaching will open him up to more questions about pro coaching, which he may want to avoid do to negotiations and his current contract with ESPN. I guess we will see.

Maybe because UF is 10xs the job UT is right now, he has a top 5 team, and in a fertile recruiting state with facilities and limitless resources?
