No doubt about it. He was notorious for being behind the play several seconds embellishing the excitement. He had an awkward streak that wasn’t really apparent unless you were watching live. Even back then, he was a throwback to 15-20 years earlier when hardly anything was on TV.I didn't really mean it as a comparison to Kesling in any way. Loved Ward when radio was the only option but it was just distracting to me when paired with TV.
Granted, his job wasn't to be a TV announcer but a radio announcer and he was great at it.
