The report was that it would be good for both Bobby and Tennessee to find each other. They said that Bobby wants to leave because it is way to hard to recruit a player to go to Luvitt texas compared to Knoxville. They also said we would be an automatic contender in the SEC. then finally they said that he would have a better chance to win a national championship in Tennessee than Texas Tech.

i think he needs to focus on the tournament before talking to us..

if we get him. just think this time next year we will be in the tournament . guaranteed.

Maybe we should hope that Texas Tech loses in the first round. It might make him really mad and push him out the door. He could also concentrate on coming to Tennessee sooner.

That's quite a list but I really think it has been minimal since about 2000. That's 5 years.

Who would have thought I would be defending Bobby Knight? :beer:

I was attending IU when he was fired. I know it all too well. I also got to witness the riots that his firing caused. It was a pretty good time.

Well I don&#39;t want to make a big deal about this since he really is a polarizing character. Mine is just one opinion.

Seems to be toned down over the last 5 years but that list shows about 25+ years of questionable behavior, all over looked pretty much until the end when his W/L record was starting to fade.

My main point is that there are plenty of coaches that can teach kids to be men and win 20+ games without being abusive.


BTW, nice job on the automated tourney brackets Freak.

I guess my deal with Knight is that he is the only PROVEN winner that we can afford. All of the other guys will be questionable hires just like Buzz and Jerry Green. How many Sweet 16&#39;s or Great 8&#39;s do those guys have (other rumored candidates)?

If we can get another proven winner then I would definitely consider it but with the exception maybe Barnes, Knight is the closest to a sure thing ON the court.

I selfishly want him to come so that they will get more TV coverage. I don&#39;t get Fox sports....

There are other reasons too, but everyone has already stated them.

That interview is coming up in about 15 minutes. I doubt he will say anything interesting.
