Bobby Maze

"
(Maze's Coach) Swanson spent two years as an assistant on Pearl’s staff at Wisconsin-Milwaukee (2001-03).
Swanson said Maze could be successful in any system he plays in, but he’s confident Maze would do well in Pearl’s system because it’s the same one Swanson runs at Hutchinson.
“It’s a system that works well for Bobby,” said Swanson, who played at Hutchinson himself. “I try, as much as possible, to emulate a lot of the same things that Bruce does and what we did at Milwaukee."

Swanson said UT assistant Steve Forbes made the most recent visit to Kansas early last week. Swanson said, Forbes gave him his first coaching job at Barton (Kans.) Community College when Forbes was the head coach there and the two have stayed good friends.
"

It seems like we should really have the inside track on this guy. I hope he does what Hopson did and commits to UT without talking to UK again.

“There’s no need for me to go visit Kentucky,’’ he said. “There’s not a better situation than this.’’

I got my wish!

“I’m definitely going to play,’’ Maze said. “I’ll give you some summer league action."

He's certainly not lacking confidence. Here's hoping he backs it up - and stays eligible.

So why did Maryland pull his offer? This kid must be talented--and have some issues, besides!! We lose two because of behavioral issues, and gain one, albeit with more talent--so I suppose we should be happy. Strange business, basketball. The good news is that the Vols ought to get at least one year out of him, and maybe two, which is probably max anyway before troubles bubble to the surface.

If I knew that Prince were spending every day in the gym, dribbling only with his right hand and shooting about 100 jumpers daily (with his left), I might actually feel good about next year's team.

I am just beyond pumped!!!! We will have a real PG that can penetrate, shoot and dish. Can we just skip football season?

Starting lineup
Maze
Hopson
Tyler
Wayne
Tatum or Williams or ???

No matter who the 5th is, this team is going to ROCK!

Umm ... Tatum won't be playing the 5. I guess he could be in this lineup if Tyler moves to 4 and Wayne moves to 5.

PUMPED about Maze, though. I just heard him on the Sports Animal and he's a VERY confident dude. Definitely talks the talk. Hopefully he can walk the walk.
