Bobby Petrino for OC?

Jimbo's decision to bring Petrino to A&M really worked out well for the Aggies.
Read my previous post. One year of bad production under Jimbos influence doesn’t outweigh the several years of putting up **** load of points as a HC
I second the Hell No. I was considering the F bomb.

We're not to that level of desperation or stupidity yet.
desperation or stupidity? His Arkansas scandal happened long ago and he’s done well with his second chance. Hell, it wasn’t even that long ago where a lot of you here wanted him as our HC

Maybe just stop?

CH, if I'm not mistaken, has said before, that he adapts his offense to fit his QB, playing to their strengths as much as possible. HH and JM are two completely different types of QB for sure and I think that is the reason why our offense looks completely different over last year.

I look forward to seeing what Nico has to offer and NO on Petrino!

I never wanted him. I do acknowledge there was a group that did want him. I always thought he was over rated.

The same (bold) is also true about Heupel.

Milton can’t run the offense, Hooker was even better than what we gave him credit for, Hyatt no longer here, etc

We’ve been speculating what’s been up with the Tennessee offense all year, but one thing that’s a fact is our new OC Joey Halzle. I think Petrino could have success here running Huepels system and helping with the game prep. He could be looking for a new job assuming whoever the new A&M coach is wants to bring in their own guys
Heupel calls plays for the hundredth time

Read the rest of the posts before you have an emotionally enraged response. Nothing about Petrino would be a “desperation move”

You sure about that? I knew he called them for the Orange Bowl, but pretty sure he said Halzle calling the plays has allowed him to focus on managing the entire game
He walks the sideline with a play sheet and is constantly covering his mouth. He is clearly calling the plays.

The little time Nico has gotten to play the offense has looked more like it did with hh then again that was against ucon. He makes quick decesions like hh did

Offense has looked a lot different from the first two years. The play calling is atrocious at times whereas it wasn’t the first two years. It’s not like Halzle has a proven record of being a mastermind. Why not upgrade when you have the chance
It's bc the QB is limited.

I responded to yours sir. I don't believe I had "an emotionally enraged response." Common sense responding to yours. BTW, notice didn't answer any of my questions.

Definitely no. Positively no. Decidedly no. Uh-uh.

I’d be fine with seeing Halzle replaced…with another relatively young, up-and-coming coach. Realistically though, Halzle probably needs another year to see if he can get up to speed as an OC.

I do think Heupel needs another dynamic offensive mind in the building for things to run like they did in 2022, someone on the level of Alex Golesh and Jeff Lebby. Halzle may evolve into that guy; whether we can afford to give him the time he needs to do so is a bigger question.

But hey, maybe in 5-10 years we can get Dobbs to come back as a qb coach and OC-in-waiting. 😎

Oh yes it would. First year without Golesh. Just promoted his replacement. So replace him next year isn't desperation. Defined,"a state of despair, typically one which results in RASH(my emphasis) or extreme behavior." Yep, get another new guy and get all the folks learning all over again. Coach Halzle offered a continuation on staff. Will it work? time will tell. But changing again is a sign of desperation to eyes that can see it for what it is or appears to be.
