Bobby Petrino Lovers' Thread

Cant stand when people take scripture out of context to suit their purposes. Yes, forgiveness is available to all. However, with every person, there are still consequences to actions. If you let a friend borrow your car and he shows it off and wrecks it, you may forgive him, but you may not let him drive you car again. Forgiveness does not erase consequences. I absolutely think Petrino should be forgiven and I hope he restores his family and career, but being forgiven doesnt mean he automatically gets another high profile coaching job.

Tressel!!!!!!!

I'm not defending the Petrino thing but your statement is wrong on so many levels. It's not how you begin but how you end. Before i grew up I have been arrested more then 10 times plus many other offences never been caught for but changed my life & haven't messed up since 2001 & don't plan on messing up now. People make mistakes & change.

Not validating Petrino because I don't know where he stands as of now

I do agree with this

There's no doubt that's a legitimate point and I'm not completely ignoring but...

2-2 against LSU teams that probably had twice the talent isn't bad and there's nobody in America whose really had much success against Saben. Find me someone who has and is available and I'll gladly get behind the hire.

I believe Bill Belichick is .500 against him

I'm all for personal redemption. I just don't think it's very prudent to be the program that puts itself in the position of rolling the dice on him because we're afraid we'll never win another football game. That's a job for a directional school somewhere.

I take Patterson in a heart beat. We should have picked him last time.

"Being from Arkansas, Misleading people who trusted you, Lying to your former employer, Getting a little strange on the side, Lying about getting said strange until the eveidence becomes overwhelming, then getting in front of the camera crying and begging for forgiveness should never preclude a man from having a high profile job"

No thanks to Bobby we have enough to overcome without having the cluster of firing another coach in two years for violating a moral turpitude clause.

The ONLY good thing I can see about hiring Petrino is that at least we wouldn't have to pay to get rid of him. He'd either get fired for cause or do a flit in the night.

Don't want.

Evidently Auburn's due diligence found more skeletons.

"Chadd Scott ‏@ChaddScott

Just off phone w/ long-time AU partisan whose contacts in AU legal counsel told him background checks on Petrino found more skeletons"

Not at all shocking. He's about as bad a person as it gets.

We already know that Petrino knows how to build a program and that he can compete against Saban, Miles, and their ilk.

2-6 against Saban and Miles (0-4 against Saban, which is the main person we need to beat)

If we're trying to get destroyed by Bama every year, we can at least do it with someone who's not a piece of trash human being.

If we hired Petrino, we could have a girls of (opposing team) and girls of Petrino thread each week.

Mom's are not gonna let there kid's play for that idiot everytime I think about him I see that piece of garbage with the neckbrace on in stupid razorback red crying like a little girl. . . we don't want that idiot

Moms still send their kids to play for Brian Kelly. I don't think it would be as big of an issue as most are thinking.

We are scrapping the proverbial bottom of the barrel. We wanted Gruden who turned us down. We shifted to Strong who chose to stay at Louisville. We then shifted to Gundy who chose to stay at OSU. Now, we move onto Ferdoria with most believing he will stay at UNC. All of this while a proven coach in Bobby Petrino waits. Other than Gruden, none of the other coaches that we have offered have done anything close to Petrino.

Hire Bobby now and tell Slive to go worry about how he is going to MAKE SURE his master BAMA is going to make it to the 2014 NC game.

I can't believe the support Petrino is now getting, some of us knew he was the best hire all along.

If the "best hire all along" was going to bring us Dooleyesque recruiting classes and Sal Sunseri quality defense, we were screwed from the very beginning.
