Bobby Petrino Lovers' Thread

Really? Really? well, let me educate you on your chosen one. He quit the Atlanta Falcons in the middle of the season with a letter to the players. He was not man enough to face them. So, is that what you want? A guy who isn't man enought to face his players and tell them the truth face to face and lied to his wife and kids? That is what YOU want to lead the Vols and the young men on the team?

Jesus didnt coach the Falcons, and i do not believe he had kids or a wife. The person you responded to said "You are forgiven- Jesus".

I would not mind Jesus leading the vols, he did die for the worlds sins, so he probably would put it on the line for the Vols (players and fans) as well... Just saying

Can you imagine the negative recruiting against Petrino?

"Mrs Smith, I see you have a plaque of the 10 commandments hanging on your wall. Since your son is considering TN you should be aware that the coach of the Vols has broken all ten of these plus 2 others that didnt make the list.

Solid

Never in a million years thought I'd say this ... let's just bring Fulmer back, damn it. He's as good as or better than anybody else on the board.

What a sad state of affairs ...

And I never thought I'd agree with this. But, given the choices out there, i.e. Strong, Fedora, Golden et al. I believe I'd take him above the field. With a decent staff he could probably do okay.

I hope we get Fedora and hire Chizik as DC.

I think the NCAA stuff will be blamed mainly on TT, and we could keep the compliance office on Chizik's ass to make sure he doesn't do anything

Mom's are not gonna let there kid's play for that idiot everytime I think about him I see that piece of garbage with the neckbrace on in stupid razorback red crying like a little girl. . . we don't want that idiot

Screw Petrino. Can't even ride a Harley and get a hand job at the same time.

Not only that but the sleazebag conspired in secret with Bobby Lowder to take Tuberville's job at Auburn while CTT still HAD IT!!! He left Louisville in the lurch also.... DO NOT WANT!!! Would rather hire Dooley back wirh a raise and public apology before having Petrino anywhere near Neyland....

Petrino is an amazing coach, we would be lucky to have him. I've got bashed for it ever since we fired Dooley, but I still think he is the best coach available.

Cant stand when people take scripture out of context to suit their purposes. Yes, forgiveness is available to all. However, with every person, there are still consequences to actions. If you let a friend borrow your car and he shows it off and wrecks it, you may forgive him, but you may not let him drive you car again. Forgiveness does not erase consequences. I absolutely think Petrino should be forgiven and I hope he restores his family and career, but being forgiven doesnt mean he automatically gets another high profile coaching job.

I think Petrino would be a great hire from an Xs and Os stand point, but how does he look a "Momma" in the eye and comfort her that her son is in good hands?

Therein lies the problem. Look for him to end up as OC at a D1 school or HC at a lower level program. He won't be a D1 HC again any time soon. Character issues kill recruiting.

So true. Plus from a hiring standpoint, having a mistress was the least of his transgressions.

I would absolutely take Petrino. My only reservation is his recruiting.

"Trust in fearless leader Robert to lead you to the promised land, Atlanta." -Jesus, I think.

Exactly. If any pro-Petrino people run a business, I wonder if they will hire or rehire someone who stole from them or violated a major company rule. Or would they hire someone that has left other jobs in a less than ideal way and has bad references. Why is this so hard for people to get? Forgiveness has nothing to do with this. If we go around lying and breaking company policy, we face consequences of those actions

The best indicator of the future is the past. This would end like it has for every single school he's ever coached at - BADLY.

It's hard to get because Average Joe looks no deeper than the next game.

I wonder if the same people would hire Kiffin back? I wonder if they like Kiffin? I am sure there are many who would take Petrino but not Kiffin, and that makes no sense

I'm not defending the Petrino thing but your statement is wrong on so many levels. It's not how you begin but how you end. Before i grew up I have been arrested more then 10 times plus many other offences never been caught for but changed my life & haven't messed up since 2001 & don't plan on messing up now. People make mistakes & change.

Not validating Petrino because I don't know where he stands as of now

How sad and pathetic it is that we've fallen so far that the head coach at the University of Louisville, in the Big effing East, would turn us down.

We really are that low on the totem pole. This is rock bottom. Nobody wants to come here. Nobody. It is as I feared.

Go get Jim Tressel. Wtf.
