Yes, and Clay Travis also wanted Bobby Petrino and had said for 2 weeks that Gruden was coming. Travis is as credible as a ham sandwich.

Travis never said one time Gruden was a lock to come. In fact the closest he got to Gruden was that there was a faction of big boosters that offered him a blank check package.

Travis never said he was coming. Also, he said Petrino would be 1 of 4 coaches we could hire that were infinitely better than Schiano.

Why don’t you read more than just headlines buddy.

Quote Clay Travis = Lose all credibility.

More tied into program with Fulmer/donor faction that Nashville Radio.

It must be tough being an “adult” and being butthurt about a football coach and sport that you have no involvement in beyond watching the game.

He’s also the main reason the Sunday protest of Schiano got started.

But hey, let your personal childish grudges get in the way of facts.

Personally, I like a coach that steps on the throat of the opposing team regardless of the score. I cannot recall a UT coach that has ever had that "killer" attitude and mentality.

Link? He wanted Petrino, never said Gruden was coming. Only said he was the top target (he was).

Yes he did. He wrote about it for about 4 days straight days on his website Jon Gruden diary. Here’s day 3:

Clay's Jon Gruden Diary: Day Three - Outkick the Coverage

I really, honestly believe Jon Gruden is going to be the next head coach of the Tennessee Volunteers

Cue the “he didn’t say he was, just he believed he was” semantics argument.

Cool, show me where I said he said Gruden was a “lock”; the rest of what you posted is just flat out wrong.

How does that change anything about what I said he said about Petrino? I said he wanted him; he has forever, way before Schiano.

Are there really this many people who are supposedly “grown adults” that are butt hurt over another grown man about a sport?

Seems like it’s roughly the same level of butthurt you’re displaying over people knocking your precious Clay.

You know, I kinda like people who buck the trend, but you're not doing it very well.

You seem to think that people don't like Kiffin because of his midnight exit. (Which was pretty immature and non-classy, btw, but hey.)

I think that people are more bothered by his ongoing, ain't-fixed-yet, childish actions (witness his tweets) and demonstrated lack of personal control. Tennessee does NOT need a fool as a head coach as we slowly work our way out of NCAA microscope land.

Outrageous boyz are fun if you can get away with it, but we don't need any Unpleasant Surprises in the PR department.

We hired Jeremy Pruitt.

We hired Jeremy Pruitt.

I don't think that he's a role model for personal integrity, but he does at least seem to be able to maintain a reasonable public persona, something that Kiffin has never done.

I'm far too old to expect alpha males to behave, but I do expect them to get a little closer to being discreet than Kiffin has managed to do.
