Boise St gets to play the SEC

Not so much Petersen, but all the Boise fans and apologists drive me insane. Acting like you should play one game and 11 glorified scrimmages and then deserve a shot at the national championship is the definition of entitled in my book. I don't care so much about conference loyalty. I'll pull for most SEC teams in their OOC games, but I will never wish any success on Uf and Bama, no matter how good it makes the SEC look.

How many Boise fans have you met? I've met none. I certainly haven't thought of the program as having a sense of entitlement. All they do is win, it's not their fault they want a shot at the big boys. How many top teams would honestly give them a shot? No one would want a home-and-home, and only crazy people would willingly take them over Middle-Alabama Technical Institute for the Blind.

Boise loses some key starters but they will reload. Kellen Moore will be back. Boise is a machine now and I would be suprised if they didn't beat Georgia by at least a touchdown. Glad the Vols aren't playing them.

Boise is going to beat Georgia easy. Too bad Georgia is afraid to give them a return game...

Why is it too bad? SEC teams have no business playing home and homes with WAC teams. That's the kind of entitlement I'm talking about with the Boise supporters. There is no conceivable benefit for a big time team from a BCS conference going across the country to play a team from a non-AQ conference, yet Boise people think teams should do it anyway, like they deserve some kind of charity. Nebraska offered them a 2 for 1, but Boise decided they were too good for that deal.

The funniest thing I've heard Boise fans say is that teams are scared to go play "on the blue turf". I laugh every time

Scared? :eek:lol: I think it's more like repulsed. Everytime I look at that field I think arena football.

so an un-ranked SEC team has no "conceivable" benefit to play a top 5 BCS ranked team?
I never understood that.

If Boise beats Georgia, you will never hear the end of it from the Bronco fans.

The reverse is also true. But forget that, I like BSU's attitude of anybody, anywhere, anytime. Wish the UT still held to that principle.

And yet most of the big boys don't put their money where their mouth is. Best way to shut up someone is to go where they're at and beat living excretion out them. So until the big boys have the guts to do this, I don't have very much respect for there excuses when it comes to BSU.

It's not excuses. Why go play a WAC school? We played the current #1 team in the land this year. I wouldn't say we are running from anyone.

So if a chipmunk taunts a guy with a bazooka, the guy with the bazooka should act?

Oklahoma Sooners, Oregon Ducks, Virginia Tech Hokies, the ones who weren't scared to take on the Broncos but paid a price for it. The other big boys know BSU isn't a cream puff and steer clear. I call it cowardice. However, I do believe when the Vols are back where they used to be and belong, we'll take them on. Until then all the big boys are just being gutless with excuses. With the mystique and curiosity BSU commands now such games would provide big time TV viewing, revenue, and game attendance. The Va Tech game proved that. So sorry, I'm not giving the excuses an ounce of respect. The big boys are gutless. I hope GA wins but believe BSU will continue to make the most of each crumb of opportunity tossed their way. Big boys know it too and run in opposite direction.

The whole "teams are scared of Boise" thing is a myth made up by their fan base.

I get what you're saying and see your point, but I disagree. If I'm the up and comer and was going try and prove myself against the big boys, I go to their house and push them around. If I'm that good, I give them the home field advantage and shove it in their face. I humiliate them in front of their crowd. Why should the established program go out of their way to play?

Bobby Bowden built FSU in that way. I know it was a different time then, but I still think the Bowden model is the best way to truly get the overall national respect.

That's just how I see it.

You do know what happened the last time the potato farmers played the 'Dawgs, don't you?
