Boise St gets to play the SEC

Scared? :eek:lol: I think it's more like repulsed. Everytime I look at that field I think arena football.
I love it when they accuse teams of being scared. I'm sure a team that routinely walks into Death Valley, the Swamp, and Neyland is going to be really terrified of walking into a high school stadium with blue turf.

I get what you're saying and see your point, but I disagree. If I'm the up and comer and was going try and prove myself against the big boys, I go to their house and push them around. If I'm that good, I give them the home field advantage and shove it in their face. I humiliate them in front of their crowd. Why should the established program go out of their way to play?

Bobby Bowden built FSU in that way. I know it was a different time then, but I still think the Bowden model is the best way to truly get the overall national respect.

That's just how I see it.

You have a very good point. I can easily swallow what you say above. But let me tell you what really gets my attention. Hold on:

"I get what you're saying and see your point, but I disagree." - Volgrad98

Hopefully we all take this approach to heart and act civilized here when we don't see things the same way. Thank you for this reminder. I'll try to live up to it, and if you notice me not doing so, PLEASE remind me of my words here.

Oklahoma Sooners, Oregon Ducks, Virginia Tech Hokies, the ones who weren't scared to take on the Broncos but paid a price for it. The other big boys know BSU isn't a cream puff and steer clear. I call it cowardice. However, I do believe when the Vols are back where they used to be and belong, we'll take them on. Until then all the big boys are just being gutless with excuses. With the mystique and curiosity BSU commands now such games would provide big time TV viewing, revenue, and game attendance. The Va Tech game proved that. So sorry, I'm not giving the excuses an ounce of respect. The big boys are gutless. I hope GA wins but believe BSU will continue to make the most of each crumb of opportunity tossed their way. Big boys know it too and run in opposite direction.

lol im tired of hearing the excuse that big schools are scared to play boise state.. thats all bullshi t boise propaganda

Why is it too bad? SEC teams have no business playing home and homes with WAC teams. That's the kind of entitlement I'm talking about with the Boise supporters. There is no conceivable benefit for a big time team from a BCS conference going across the country to play a team from a non-AQ conference, yet Boise people think teams should do it anyway, like they deserve some kind of charity. Nebraska offered them a 2 for 1, but Boise decided they were too good for that deal.

Don't generalize this. This isn't a SEC playing a lowly WAC team. This is Georgia vs Boise State. Obviously going to be a big draw due to the presence of Boise State.

Here's why Boise State can't handle playing in a big conference.

UT goes to LSU and basically beats an undefeated SEC team.

The next week they lose 41-14 to UGA.

It shows how crazy and how ever the mediocre SEC teams can beat anyone.

Or, how up and down UT has played this year. Vols need to go hard tonight and not let up.

The reverse is also true. But forget that, I like BSU's attitude of anybody, anywhere, anytime. Wish the UT still held to that principle.

Two things.

1. BSU's attitude is "Wahh, the big schools don't wanna play at our place. Wahh. Wahh."

And then they incessantly complain about it forever. If Boise wants to put themselves in line with the big boys, man up and go play at their place with no return game. That's how Florida State did it. Fresno State also had that method as well.

2. Oh, I'm sorry. I must have missed the fact that we've played home and home series with Notre Dame, Miami, UCLA, and Cal. In the next 10-12 years, we've got games lined up with Oregon, Cincinnati, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Ohio State, and USC.

Problem is if a team loses... For instance, say Boise drops the hammer on UGA next year, then it's conceivable the big boys may even refuse single home games.

Pat Hill had Fresno on the up and up for a couple years, but you never got the sense that the big boys ever really, truly considered them a threat.

While I'm the opposite of a Boise honk, only idiots don't think that they can beat nearly any team in the country, home, road or neutral.

If TCU or Boise wins the BCSNCG this year, though, then they won't have to worry about the whole weak conference bit. They can then adopt a "You don't want to play us? Fine. We'll run the table on cupcakes and take your conference's BCSNCG bid."

Boise was supposed to play @ Ole Miss on Sept 3rd, but it looks like they are are trying to change that game now. Possibly going to have BYU head to Oxford now.

Not like that's a great idea, either.

BYU is no good this year, but most years they are no slouch.

Idiotic and delusional on1. Petersen hasn't ever whined. You just don't like one of the little guys jumping up and eating the big boys' lunch. Just admit it.

Heh, that must be the reason I'd support a TCU NCG bid.

Petersen hasn't ever whined. The fans of that program have.

Petersen hasn't... But their fans, some associated with the university and the talking heads on ESPN (looking at you, Herby) have gone a long way with that.

I don't think anybody is right to speak ill of the actual football team itself, they definitely stay down and win all the games they can. Their fans, however, are insufferable.

A) boise fans are insufferable. They truly think they are the best program in the country. They say things like "our backups would start for 90% of bcs teams."

B) the reason no one will play them is they require home and homes. no other non bcs program requires this of bcs opponents. Fresno, tcu, and Nevada have scheduled away games or 2 for 1s and have gotten the "big boys" to play them.

While I get what your saying if the "big boys" wanted them to stay quite a home and home wouldnt matter. Fact is no one wants a 50/50 NC game on the schedule.

Ridiculous....Boise St said they would go ANYWHERE and play teams on their home field if necessary to get their point across....They haven't whined or cried about anything and they have beaten every team thrown in front of them including Oregon TWICE :clapping:

like the fact that the quoited poster is comparing Boise to UT.
now...would UT go to Texas and not expect Texas to come to UT? what about Buffalo? is UT going to play there?
where is the return game for Wyoming?

If all these BCS schools what to prove Boise wrong...shut up and go to the blue tuff...otherwise..just shut up.

yet they never schedule such games.

Yes they do...They played UGA a few years ago in athens...they have future games against Michigan St scheduled and Oregon St as well as Washington and Washington St...I suppose you missed them beating Oregon on their home field a couple of years ago huh? Or beating Oklahoma in the bowl game?...Or TCU last year in the bowl?...Or the ACC coastal division champion Virginia Tech this year which was pretty much a home game for VT...They are ducking nobody but can only play who they can get to play them..A lot of you don't give them any credit yet they keep winning and winning...In impressive fashion I might add.

a) they got destroyed by uga in athens and proceeded to not schedule any more only roads.

b) oregon was a home and home agreement

c) the rest you mention are bowl games and therefore not scheduled by boise.
