Barring an opening at Notre Dame, FSU would likely be the most attractive vacancy in the country this offseason.

Just not sure they'd cough up the $5 mil to get Jimbo out of town. I tend to think they need to clear out the football offices entirely.

Anyone coming in there has to a) be candid with the administration and himself as to the mess he is inheriting and what it will take to right the ship (meaning clean sweep of staff, including probably the entire support staff); and b) realize the amount of time it will take, and the criticisim he will have to endure, to get there.

Remind me how many coaches, outside of the present one, have ever had any success at Florida State. Their program will be as irrelevant as Minnesota in 3 years.

It's not as if anyone other than Bowden has had a stab it in 3 decades.

I don't think they'll ever return to the dominance they enjoyed in the 90's, but I can't help but think it's an attractive job.

Most fertile recruiting soil in the country...a conference that you can win in immediately. Somebody's gonna want that job. And somebody will have them back in a BCS bowl, which is definitely not happening at Minnesota.

Maybe I'm wrong...wouldn't be the first time this afternoon.

Sounds like Tennessee...

From a performance perspective, their program has already become irrelevant. If they leave Fisher as the HC, then I agree that they will remain flat at best or continue to slide. However, if they bring in a new HC and staff I would expect them to recover quite quickly. Unlike Kiffin's situation, there is talent at FSU. They have had top 10 recruiting classes 3 of the last 4 years.
