Everyone is assuming we will win 2 of next 3 games to be 6 & 6. Whos to say we even get an invitation?

Please....this is the most absurd question I have read on here in a while. I can see it now....a bowl knowing that UT fans have long desired after 2 years to get to a bowl and knowing they would travel pass on them because they are 6-6.

If we win 6 games there is no way we don't go bowling. Tn always travels well , and bowl games want ticket sales.

Stewart Mandel of SI.com has TN facing ECU in the Liberty Bowl. Living here among the Pirate faithful I feel that would be a fun matchup.

What bowl game wouldn't invite TN? we may be down but we're still one of the most recognizable brands in College football.

This weekend has a very interesting game (vandy vs florida). If vandy wins the game, they will likely go to a bowl and FL will miss out on a bowl because their remaining schedule will be too tough. If florida wins, and assuming we beat vandy, vandy will not make it to a bowl this year. Pick your poison... win win as long as we beat vandy.

We are an SEC team with a large, dedicated fan base. If we win 6, will absolutely get an invitation.

Plus our strength of schedule is ranked 2, how do you not choose a six and six team that has played the number1 and 2 team in the nation as well as a host of top ten teams?

Since it's a virtual lock every that two SEC teams will play in BCS games, there are enough bowls for 11 SEC teams. If more than 11 of the 14 teams qualify, a 6-6 team would be locked out, unless there are slots in non-SEC bowls that cannot be filled by the contracted conferences or at-large teams with more than 6 wins.

I figure that Arky, Miss. St., and UK will not qualify. Miss. St. has the best chance among the three, but if they go 6-6, we'd probably get invited ahead of them.
I think UT, Vandy, and UF all go 6-6, and the Liberty picks us, leaving the Compass and Independence Bowls to pick between Vandy and UF. The Florida bowl games obviously love having the Gators, but if UF falls below those games, a TN bowl will pick us before they'll pick them, because Gator fans will probably not be eager to leave sunny Florida to take a cold vacation watching their 6-6 team.
