I'm not saying it's a better sport or anything like that, to tell you the truth I could care less about either of them. I'm saying I'd much rather watch boxing and boxing is looked upon as a classier sport than MMA. Anyday of the week.

You're talking about the fans. I was speaking of the thought that the sport of boxing and/or boxers are more classy than MMA, which is totally false. Boxing enthusiasts love to paint the picture that boxing is some sort of art and MMA is some cheap, tatoo filled barbaric fight. 'Cause we all know boxers never have tattos or attitudes. And they would never do something so low class like start a fight at the weigh-in, take highly personal and offensive verbal shots at their opponent, or bite someone's ear off in the ring. Boxing's way too classy for that to happen.

And I did see Kid Rock, the Pitt-Jolies, and some other celebrities in their suits at that photo-op, err, boxing match.

I think its a misconception that MMA fans don't like Boxing or vice versa. Most people like both, I just prefer MMA right now. It's interesting watching JuJitsu being practiced against someone who is a wrestler or a kickboxer, etc.

Yea, but that jui-jitsu stuff has gotten stale pretty quick for me.

I liked it when Gracie (180lbs) would defeat Kemo (320lb bruiser) with it.
But I watched one of the best , hard hitting fights in my life earlier today on ESPN, it is must see TV for anybody that liked Ward vs Gatti or Forrest Griffin vs Bonner.

Inconsistency comes from the "shows" not being, oh, what's the word.......

RIGGED. yeah, that's the word. the only way to guarantee pure entertainment with every fight you put out there is to fix them. for more information see McMahon, Vince (who is even having problems with making the fixed ones fun these days)

Let me be perfectly clear on this--

the only things I truly hate about Boxing are it's absolute corruption, and it's inability to acknowledge MMA as legitimate.

Boxing is PART of MMA!!! MMA has become the evolution of combat sport, and those that cannot see that have obviously never set foot on a mat or in a ring.

If it isn't happening already how long before corruption is in MMA?

I was just flipping through the channels and saw that CNBC is doing a story on MMA. It will be re-airing a few more times so I plan on watching tomorrow night.

Go back and look at some hyped fights. De La Hoya and Mayweather, I'm sure if you looked out in the crowd you saw big names, businessmen, movie stars, beautiful women all dressed in their best.

What's UFC got?

I'm not saying it's a better sport or anything like that, to tell you the truth I could care less about either of them. I'm saying I'd much rather watch boxing and boxing is looked upon as a classier sport than MMA. Anyday of the week.

For my money UFC is much more entertaining. I don't hate boxing but when it comes down to it if I had to choose between spending $50 on a MMA PPV vs. a boxing PPV it's a no brainer. What I don't understand is the misconception that boxing is so much more of an "art". In today's MMA world, athletes must be versed in several types of combat in order to have success. The notion that MMA fights are the same thing as a bar fight or whatever is ridiculous. Anyone of this opinion hav obviously no taken the time to really watch what goes on inside the octogon.

PLEASE let Cuban go find Kid Yamamoto and cut him a check to fight Mayweather.....

that would be the absolute destruction of Pansy Boy Floyd, and the exposure of boxing as an incomplete combat sport.
