I don't think it will work. Ticket prices would be driven down if season ticket holders were to quit buying them. College football fans who were othewise unable to go to games would gobble up the tickets, and the school, though taking a loss, would continue to profit by volume.

I truely believe; within 5 years, a person, or group of people will collect enough cash to buy the rights to the BCS, continue the payouts to power conference who make up an 8 to 10 team field for a playoff. Television revenue will make it a viable option to a Mark Cuban.

If this would occur I think the NCAA would become irrelevant which is a double edged sword with respect to compliance of the schools, and the inefficiency of the NCAA.

How is the system broken if you are a fan of an SEC team? Our champion got snubbed once, at which point we started the biggest chest pounding campaign in the history of college athletics. Our champion has been given a free pass to the championship game even with 2 losses. This year the rest of the NCAA could only find a team that was almost as good as the second best team in the SEC Western Division. Yeah I'd rather Ok St would have gone just so the out cry wouldn't be so loud but from inside the SEC the system is far from broken.

I'm not a fan of the sec. I'm a fan of Tennessee.

There should be a playoff, college football has turned into a joke and everybody deep down knows it.

Comparing NFL or NBA players to military or teachers is insanely ignorant.

Anyone who passes a basic physical can be in the military, and anyone with a college degree can be a teacher (and substitutes don't even need one). In the NBA there are, at most, 450 players at any time, from across the entire world. That is a skillset so small, so specialized, that they deserve to get paid absurd amounts of money (not to mention they make millions in revenue for cities, local businesses, and the team itself). If teachers/military personal were making that much money in revenue for a corporation, then yes they would be paid more. If either of those jobs were a specialized skill set that less than .5% of the world could do, then sure. But until then, pay them what they make from society. (I am a firm believer that teachers should be paid much more, however I find it supremely idiotic when people compare a teacher or any profession to a professional athlete. One is a high risk, high reward sales job virtually, and the other has tenure. It's comparing golden apples to oranges.)

Exactly what qualifies me as being idiotic? Second, it wasn't your desire of a playoff that hinted toward your economic tendencies it was your blame of corporations. Third I only called you out because of the classless comment on Aggie. Fourth what would research on Newport beach do for me? Fifth if you want to have an intelligent discussion id be more than happy to. However you need to bring a friend so there will be some brains from your side.

I have no prob w corporations as I am paid well by one. The current bcs is corrupt, and a farce.

The tex am comment was true. Calling somebody a socialist who lives in one of the wealthiest counties of the country is idiotic.

The Aggie comment was deplorable. You remind me of a whiny mommas boy who lives off his daddy coattails. I don't care what county you live in or where you are from, you are a deplorable person for what you have sad. We live in the wealthiest nation in the world and there are plenty of socialists here. Don't try to hide your feelings you can't defend behind your county of residence. If you don't like the bcs don't watch football. But if you knew history you'd realize its better than what it used to be. If this were fifty years ago, lsu would have already been crowned champion before the bowl game.

I wasn't referring to the desire for the bcs to be changed as lazy. You just are a perfect example of someone who complains about a situation without offering real viable solutions that have a chance to be passed.
