Well obviously Tennessee isn't going to make it in if we finish 3-2. The question is what happens if we finish 4-1 or 5-0. And the people saying we're not an at-large team no matter how we finish are high.

Agree completely with the last part. Finishing 4-1 w/ a win against Vandy might be good enough on it's own, although I would still like to see a win or two in the tourney. The key there is finishing as high as possible to avoid Kentucky for as long as possible

The ideal situation for Tennessee is to finish 2nd or 3rd in the conference (with Florida in the other spot) and Vandy in 4th or 5th. Puts our two worst matchups on the other side of the bracket, and puts us a win away from facing off with Florida for the right to go to the final. If we make the final, I imagine we're in the tournament.

Southern Cal's profile last year:

RPI: #67

Top 100 wins: 8 (Vols currently have 5)
Top 50 wins: 4 (Vols currently have 3)
Sub-100 losses: 5 (Vols currently have 3)
Sub-200 losses: 3 (Vols currently have 0)

Wins over tournament teams:

vs Texas (4 seed)
@ Tennessee (9 seed)
vs UCLA (7 seed)
vs Arizona (5 seed)
@ Washington (7 seed)

and that was last year in what was considered a very strong tournament field top to bottom. big east getting in 11 teams last year really screwed some people, this year alot of those big conferences, big east/acc, are down somewhat and wont get in as many teams this year imo.
