At the outset, I felt the Vols would finish anywhere from 5-7 to 7-5. But I'm not taking this last game for granted. The spread is only 4 points, we're on the road, and Kentucky might play their game of the year.

Cognizant of the fact that the Vandy loss was so deflating to some, I just thought I'd remind you that a loss to Kentucky is very possible. Don't let it spoil your joy.

A big turnaround from last season wasn't really very realistic. So I'm not going to fall apart if we drop the finale. Hope not. But it's possible. Just saying, "don't let it ruin your turkey sandwich leftovers." It's just a game for crying out loud.

The team that wants it most will win it. As we learned last time in Lexington, talent doesn't always show up on the scoreboard.

But surely our freshman QB can play as well as a WR turned QB-for-a-day.

Why would a loss to UK ruin anything? Our team is struggling, so what? Auburn went 3-9 last year and won no SEC games. I will be upset if we lose to UK but what good will it do? Do people honestly think it has any effect on the team by coming on VN and *****ing and complaining? No it doesn't. We have to wait and see how Butch and the staff are going to work out. I wish we were immediately better. All UT fans do. Unfortunately Rome wasn't built in a day.

Dobbs will need to be more than a RB for us to compete in KY. Must have pass game therefore need the WR's to play better than they did against Vandy. Scary thoughts since they could not do it at home on Senior night, Now we hope for it on UK's senior day

If Butch Jones loses to Kentucky he may as well resign and call Gruden himself begging for him to take the job over ASAP and get Manning to retire now and be OC and then get the Ryan bros to leave the NFL and be co-defensive coordinators................

It will be a long off season of garbage like that on here if Kentucky beats us.

It's ok to be frustrated and disgusted as a fan not to get any improvement at all. I think it was reasonable to expect at least a 6-6 record and to be somewhat competitive in most of the losses. So if your college football joy is spoiled then its understandable, but its true that it shouldn't spoil the other things in life.

I now do not believe any predictions, whether good or bad, on VN. It will be what it will be and no one on VN knows squat about our chances of winning against Kentucky.

What has UT shown that would make anyone expect a road win, regardless of opponent? I simply can't muster any give a damn about next week's garbage.

It will be a horrible loss for this reason:

Tennessee and Ohio St. are the only two Division 1 teams to never lose 8 games in one season.

If this staff lands 2 more recruiting classes like the one they have now and we are still a 5 win only club....then I will call for his head to roll and dub him an "Orgeron" but his coaching record says otherwise so I am going to be patient too.

And Rome was built in 4 days just to clarify :eek:lol:
