The Vandy game took the care out of me for the rest of the year. If they lose so be it.. I won't be in town anyway. Might catch it on radio..

Why would a loss to UK ruin anything? Our team is struggling, so what? Auburn went 3-9 last year and won no SEC games. I will be upset if we lose to UK but what good will it do? Do people honestly think it has any effect on the team by coming on VN and *****ing and complaining? No it doesn't. We have to wait and see how Butch and the staff are going to work out. I wish we were immediately better. All UT fans do. Unfortunately Rome wasn't built in a day.

Nope Rome wasn't ... but apparently Auburn was

Sometimes it just takes the right coach

Sounds as thought you are unhappy with out coach's. Butch is working with player which have been demoralized so many years while playing at Tennessee that I completely understand why it is so difficult to get them to believe. It is very similar to PTSD for many of these players.
It seems a lot of people keep comparing our teams and the situation to Auburn. Our circumstance is very different to Auburn. Actually the only comparison which is marginally similar is they changed coaches and even that change is not similar. Auburn coaching change entailed bring back the previous offense coordinator who was very familiar with the players, playbook, staff and the overall football program.
In addition Auburn recruiting is ranked seventh in the nation and third in the SEC over the last four years.
The only comparison I see is possible their record last season and the previous coaching change.

Not even remotely similar, in any way whatsoever...

*EDIT: though I do agree with the majority of your post. Comparing our situation to Auburn's just shows a lack of understanding football. Auburn had so many key elements in place for success and Malzahn was a part of the reason those key elements were in place. Apples/oranges.

Enjoyed your response. In response to your PTSD comment. I am not saying the players are suffering from PTSD. However, what the fans and more importantly the players have endured over the last four years has been very stressful and demoralizing. Keep in mine that most of our players came from winning High School programs and played under one coach. They came to Tennessee expecting to play for the coach who recruited them and become part of a winning program. I do not believe I need to describe the difficult circumstances they have encountered. I think it is sufficient to say the have endured many stressful emotional situations. This is exactly the type of stress which can result in PTSD. PTSD is different in every individual. I have many years of experience treating this condition and I know it presents itself in response to many different types of emotional stimuli. Even CBJ has discussed the fact that he fell the team has institutionalized losing as a acceptable form of behavior. Hopefully he came change it. A large recruiting class should be a step in the right direction. JMPO

we beat South Carolina. So what's your logic?? that we will win against UK. :eek:lol:

Use your brain a little bit.

We played our best games against UGA and South Carolina. If we don't play our best(which we haven't been) and Kentucky does... then there's a chance we might loose.

We passed for 59 yards against Vandy's backup secondary. I could very easily see us losing.

We have nothing left to lose, we should pull out all the stops and take chances to see what all Dobbs & Co. might can do. Let him throw the dad gum ball down the field. Throw to somebody other than Pig. Get in shotgun formation and throw. Then run draws! There is no shame in running when it looks like a pass play or passing when it looks like a run play!
