For anyone who thinks we are still getting a 3, it is also easier for a lot of SEC 2-line teams considering LSU and Bama are likely 6s.

Going to be a lot harder to avoid 2nd round SEC matchup if they seed Tennessee a 3 especially considering another one of the projected 6s is Texas who my guess is they also want to avoid a 2nd round rematch with

For the record, Vols 100% deserve a 2. Just think other programs will be favored.

To be honest, and I hate to splash water on the party, but out of all those dozens and dozens of brackets from today just over half of them have us as a 2 seed - the others have us as a 3. So it is absolutely possible they make us a 3. That is grossly wrong in my view, but it is certainly on the table. Those of you who are denying the remote possibility of it are simply not looking at the history of this committee. However.....IF we do get a 2 seed, I give us a decent chance to be rewarded with a Greenville spot over Auburn since we won the tourney and since our metrics seem to be on an upswing vs. the Tigers downtrend of late. And Greenville begins on Friday so there is that. Fingers crossed. I live 1/4 mi from Bon Secours Arena here in G'ville.

At this point, the last 2 seed would put us out West in the Gonzaga bracket and not sure that is where we want to be. As much as it would be nice to be 1 or 2, we still need to show up and play our game. Getting a 3 seed means this team might feel slighted and have something to prove. In all honesty, we would be better off in the South, Midwest, or East bracket, possibly paired up with Baylor or Kansas. I would rather not face Gonzaga or Arizona until the FF.

With our resume we should be a 2 anywhere BUT the West coast. We should be either the 5th or the 6th team overall.

But, to answer your hypothetical I’d take the 3. Better matchups and we’d have a chip on our shoulder due to the disrespect.
