Two minutes and twenty seconds of absolutely no discernible explanation. Just babbling about "metrics".
The bottom line is that the resumè didn't matter as much as the school name next to the resumè. Obviously nobody will say that out loud, but that's reality. With all of that being said, we're a 3 seed. It is what it is. Let's go take care of business.
He made the reasoning very clear…said it out loud: “You can argue resume all day long…but I knew the committee would not put them (Tennessee) ahead of Duke, certainly.” Like this is something that just would never happen, and everyone knows it.
That’s all you need to know. Brand and storylines carry more weight than resume when it comes to seeding decisions.
My Lord. I don’t think a sports video has upset me more than that one.
Asked why Kentucky and Auburn are ahead of us. Says we “certainly” weren’t gonna be put ahead of Nova or Duke, teams not asked about, without giving a single reason. Even says in regards to Duke “you can argue resume all day but”. What?! WHAT ELSE IS THERE THAT MATTERS TO SEEDING THAN RESUME?!?!
Then when asked again about Auburn and Duke, claims metrics have them above us, which is a. Not true, at least in auburns case and b. Should mean we’re ahead of Duke!!
Also again emphasized again we were tied for second in the SEC. So was Kentucky!!! And Auburn played the other top four teams once each!
Every team in March should worry us. But if there is a team that almost everyone would agree doesn’t belong in the tournament, it’s Michigan with their 14 losses.
I’d be surprised if the team even got together to hear if they were selected.
What will it be like in that second session? How many vol fans will secure tickets with Kentucky being in the same session? Michigan is closer to Indy than most people in Tennessee are.
