if Arkansas can get Mike Anderson. Anderson told the hogs a bunch of times he was staying in Missouri but they didn't take no for an answer.

Given the right amount of money, he would come, but alot of coaches are weary of the NCAA looming over our shoulders right now. Although I believe we will have a much lighter sentence now that Pearl is out of the picture.

Brad Stevens is a proven coach. He can recruit with the majors and he has proven he can coach with the big name coaches. I don't understand why he wouldnt be on the list.

Anderson already had experience at Arkansas as an assistant. Plus, Butler is kind of home to Stevens since he's lived in the state of Indiana his entire life.

Some people are smart enough to know to grow where they are rooted. Especially when they like their situation. Money is not the only motivator.

I watched an interview with Stevens the other night and he just struck me as a coach who isn't caught up in the size of the program or the amount of money he makes. Seemed very happy at Butler and even with having lesser facilities. Loved the fact that some professors on campus didn't even know that a student was a basketball player. Seems to like the small school, student first - athlete second atmosphere. Not sure he would even fit in at a large university setting. He could coach for sure, but not sure he would be happy.

Im sure him and shaka are on the list, they are still in the tournament, it would be disrespectful to him and the teams they coach for us to want to talk to them or let us know that we have talked to them, it could cause a meltdow like what happened to us. Im sure if the season was over he would be on the list.

I think he's totally contempt at Butler and wouldn't want to leave no matter what the money. He's lived in Indiana his whole life. He's number one on my list, but I don't see him coming here.

Because he can afford to wait until Indiana comes calling down the road.

This is it. I don't have any inside sources that people like to ask about on this board, but having lived in Indy for the last 5 yrs or so....the consistant word is that he will only leave for 1 job...maybe 2. IU obviously number one...Notre Dame the possible number 2.

Another poster mentioned it as well...he grew up in IN...likes what he has going and isn't going to leave just for a big pay check. IU could eventually pay him really good money...but I think he would still see it as an extension of Butler....a bigger program in better conference...but still the in state school where he grew up....a place where he could see himself staying for the remainder of his career.

Did you see how the fans treated Pearl as they chased him out of town with pitchforks?

I wouldn't come here either at the moment.

Oh, they may get weary.
Some coaches do get wearied.
But when they get weary,
You try a little tenderness.

I am contempt with his insistence to stay at Butler, too.

And, he's waiting on an NBA gig, not IU.

This whole thread is getting contemptible. Wait a minute, I started it. Was really going for the concept that Arkansas went and got who they wanted even though they were told no more than once.

Oh, so he is in a state of vile loathing towards his present employer...but you don't think he would be interested in leaving?

Does his wife also have such a disdain for huge amounts of cash?

He is not waiting for an NBA job....come on now.

Somebody else mentioned tom crean. Im a died hard Vols fan...born on knoxville. Family moved to southern Indiana during schools years ad I ended up at IU from 98-02. Long story short....while the bold are my first true love....I do love Hoosier basketball. Crean is frustrating as hell. He has a huge 2012 class getting lined up....hopefully that works out....otherwise he is gone. I like him some days....but others he is an awful game coach and brad Stevens kills him!

Long story short....crean does have another 2 years but beyond that....leash will be short especially if Stevens is available.

GBO!

You mean when they rallied to save him and forced Cheek to add new justification to the hire? Then made a number of blogposts, YouTube videos, etc. thanking him for his time here?

Yeah, must suck to be treated that way.
