Kid isn't coming to UT. However if he wants to I hope we at least sit down and have a talk with him. He is weighing around 270 and could really help out at DT. If Dooley gives him a green light, I'm good.

Carolina is paying good money these days.

Not so much now that John Blake is gone. Seriously though, this is a family decision so that he can be closer to his ailing grandmother who lives in Burlington NC, about 30 minutes away from Chapel Hill. Nothing more.

I hope he is not coming to UT now. He and his old man were all over the local news last year talking smack about Hostessgate and how he was being wooed by Kiffin to go to UT.

Loaded? not sure i agree with that assessment - kid wanted to stay close to home - dad was out of work and then got a new job in socal which led to his decommitment from UNC - now grandma sick so they are thinking of moving back closer to home - seems like it is the kid's family more than the kid that isnt stable

not all his fault and i would take him in a heartbeat
He's not able to differentiate between HS and college. In college, you go off to start your journey as an adult (with a 4year detour of course). Home is your dorm room or Apt. It's good to be close enough that you can visit your folks once in a while, but he may as well just go to JC until he is ready to move out of the house.

UT would qualify for the Top 5 Brandon Willis Closest-to-Home D-I schools (the others being SC, Clampsun, UGA and GT, if Duncan, SC is considered "home").

You forgot Furman and Wofford. They often get mixed up or overrated D1 kids and they are both minutes from Duncan

Damn, Brandon! Flip a coin .... and do 2 out of 3 since it's you.

Nearly his second year in college and he still hasn't committed to a school, lol.

Willis committed/decommitted from Tenn. twice. Transferred to UCLA from UNC then went back to UNC. Now he's transferring again. SMH

Regardless of where he goes I think the NCAA needs to do away with the "sitting out a year" rule. I think if your school refuses to release you then you have to sit out a year as far as football is concerned, but if you're released I say you should be able to play. JMO

Honestly guys, I don't understand why this can't be a real opportunity. Given his family troubles, UNC's NCAA troubles, and the fact he already sat out a year, makes me think he might be able to help out THIS year.

It makes sense for him to go to a program with VFL and more stability (at least more than UNC). Plus, it's closer to home than a lot of places. Plus, he might also see early playing time.

It makes sense for us, because we need D-Linemen like crazy, and this kid has four years of eligibility (plus a year in a D-1 weight room).

Honestly guys, I hope we go for it and hope for the best. He's got to go somewhere, and it doesn't look like it's UNC or UCLA. Why not us?

Hell to the No!

Don't want him; he obviously can't take it when things get tough - his answer is to transfer. We don't need a flip-flopper like him corrupting our team!!!
