Bray/Worely decision (merged)

Patterson wasn't celebrating he saw the flag being thrown so he was turned around while running in it he endzone. If were watching the game you could tell and he tried to tell the ref.

As much as Bray needed to be benched tonight and he did, Chaney did nothing to help the boy. Vandy blitzing on 3rd downs and we are still trying to hit verticle routes. It's Chaney that has to call plays that get the tightend and running back into pass routes. Then it's his job to chew on Bray's ear and tell him where his first reads are when they blitz. Hey Chaney ever heard of a screen pass ? Bray lacks any skill right now to over come the pressure he saw from Vandy.

It looked like Patterson was just pointing to the flag saying... WTF now. I went back and watched it several times and if he was taunting it was very minor.

From the stands in live action it looked horrible. Once they showed the replay on the jumbo tron it didn't look nearly as bad. So I don't know for sure. But during the game, watching it live it looked like it was taunting. I'm sure that has to do with reputation as much as interpretation.

As bad as this game must have looked on TV. It was much worse in person. The UT sideline looked unconcerned after the first UT touchdown. I know it was a little cool, but they didn't seem to have much life showing on the side line after that. Times are changing because the AD has 0% choice now no matter what happens next week. Just hoping next year is REALLY the next year I've been waiting for a long time....ugh.

after watching him all season, I personally don't think Bray is a great QB. He seems to shine against inferior talent, while struggling against teams equal to or greater talent wise than UT. That being said, did he throw the game??? And if so, why?
I think it was 1 of 2 reasons;
1) The "not wanting a lower tier Bowl" thing (which I'm not buying into)
2) He and Dooley really dislike each other. Dooley done something to Bray, and Bray set out to make sure Coach wasn't back next year.

Call me a conspirasist if you will, but vandy falls into the inferior talent column...Just sayin'

Yeah, Bray threw the game to make sure Dooley wasn't back next year, because that wasn't a foregone conclusion. It's unfortunate, because Dooley was winning so many games before he got Bray.

If you think someone threw the game you should look at these two points:

Pulling your starting QB when the score was only 7-3 who was struggling but had been red hot the last three games.

Faking a punt deep inside Vandy's territory when we still were in the game.

Now when you look at these points who do you think threw the game?

Or maybe Dooley is just a terrible coach. Nah, that makes too much sense.

Dooley can't go out there onto the field to make sure Bray completes more than 37% of his throws. Come gameday, it is all about the execution by the players. And overall in SEC play, Bray has failed miserably. I believe his career % is just barely over 50%.

Seriously??? These kids are not throwing games! There is no leadership from the HC, he can't put together a gameplan and he makes some of the dumbest decisions in the history of UT football. But the players are not throwing games.

Yea, the head coach has nothing to do with this. How dare Bray not lead this team to 60 points a game to secure his coach some SEC wins.

Hey, I'm not siding with either guy. I'll be glad when both are gone.

It was obvious Bray did not want to be there last night. He played a terrible game.

At one point last night Bray was 8-22 for 79 yards 1 TD 1Int.

He was making terribly bad throws for Bray, way off target.

Did he throw the game or has he he given up? There is no difference ibm the two.

He has a ton of talent but way too much attitude to be a successful qb

Worley played sharper than Bray when he was in. The interception was due to Patterson running the wrong route. Worley expected an out and it didn't happen.

My fear is that Bray is so screwed up now that it will take all year next year (assuming he doesn't make the jump to the NFL) to straighten him out. In fact, it may be better for him to declare for the draft and work on breaking his bad habits there.
