If I were in Brays shoes I wouldn't have a decision until a new coach is hired and I heard his/her plan. I would then have some long talks with Chaney and former coach Dooley and see how they feel. I'm not sure where McShay and Kiper have him ranked but these NFL teams have really become big on taking chances on QB's. RG3, Tannehill, Locker and Ponder would not have been drafted as high as they were 5 years ago.

Ponder maybe, but the NFL has been taking chances on QB's for a very long time. RG3 would be drafted high no matter what year, don't be silly.

It wasn't a decision, it was a lack of NFL recruiting options.

Nobody wants a head case.

Bray is the opposite of what you want in a west coast offense

And is the opposite of what you want in a system similar to Oregons (Rumored that Gruden has been studying with Chip Kelly to learn from his offense).

Both offenses require high IQ at the QB position, particularly at making quick reads and reading defenses pre-snap. As we all know, these are Brays weak points.

Also a bit of mobility is good, another weak point for Bray

As are short routes, yet another weak point for Bray

This may be posted in one of the Gruden threads. I didn't have 2 days to read through them all. I thought it was interesting insight from a New England website. This paragraph was particularly good:
Tennessee’s junior quarterback Tyler Bray could leave for the NFL after this season, especially since no one has emerged as the sure-thing No. 1 quarterback prospect this season. But Bray has struggled to progress from his freshman and sophomore seasons, and would be best served to spend one more year at college. Gruden could be the man to convince him to stay and to get him prepared for the NFL. Bray has all the potential in the world at 6-foot-6, 215 pounds with a big arm, but that upside isn’t turning into production yet.

Entire article is at Jon Gruden, Tennessee Would Be Perfect Match For Tyler Bray’s NFL Future, School’s Return to Prominence | College Football | NESN.com

It's hard to deny Gruden would/could be what TB needs to fulfill his full potential as a college to pro QB.

Question is: if Gruden brings that Oregon style of offense, does he really need TB?

I'll believe it when Bray says it to the press.

I think he'll wait until a new coach is named and see what the new system will be and see if Hunter, Patterson and anyone else leaves early before he'll make a final decision.

If he leaves then I really won't care and we can move forward with the Worley/Peterman era.

I just want WINS as soon as possible.

VFL...GBO!!!

What other choice does he really have? Any NFL club looking for a starting QB will not draft him high for that role. Too immature and poor decisions on reading defenses. If someone sees him as a back up "project" QB, they won't draft that position in the first couple of rounds either.

So he either accepts mid round or lower draft status or comes back and tries to salvage his potential career.

I would be happy if he moved on but if he comes back with a new attitude, he could certainly help this team next year.

Bray needs to toughen up in order to make the NFL. After a couple of knockdowns, he checks:loco: out mentally.

With a good coach he could be a productive quarterback and person. Tee Martin comes to mind.
