It's hard to deny Gruden would/could be what TB needs to fulfill his full potential as a college to pro QB.

Question is: if Gruden brings that Oregon style of offense, does he really need TB?

If he did it would need to be a bigger stronger version for it to work in the SEC. I would like to see a balanced offense with the WRs and TEs like we have had the past couple of years with a bigger, faster, and powerful running RBs. I am curious to see how the defense will look and which direction it will take scheme wise.

I certainly hope he does. It would be nice for the kid to get at least 1 good year of coaching at UT. He has a ton of talent, but has never received the type of coaching it takes to become great. I can understand his frustration during games. When things went bad, he really didn't have a great QB coach to help him work through it. If he had a coach like Cutcliffe, and NO I don't want Cutcliffe as HC, to develop his skills and demeanor, he would have been one of the best QBs UT has had.

Staying for his Senior Year... Heard from source on the team. Should be announced next week.

Thoughts?

Apparently he knows who his coach is going to be next year. I think the admin already knows who his coach is going to be next year as well.

Jim Chaney is a pretty damn good OC and QB coach. You think it might be TB between the ears that could be some of the problem?

Good news this means if TN hires the right coach next year has the chance to be a decent winning season (around 8 wins at least) rather than another crapy rebuilding job. Not having to train a new QB and having the almost the entire O line and RB's back next year is a good foundation.

No, I don't. If I had, I would have said so. Chaney has one QB that was his claim to fame. He's a pretty good OC but if he was this great QB coach, he would have disciplined Bray.

He would have been been picked in the first three rounds. I want him back if he decides to return. We will be much better for it.

Don't think TB gets any better then what he is right now. IMO he doesn't have the mental discipline to excel beyond what he has already done. A gruden style coach will push him to be better and I don't feel he can handle being pushed. He's a cupcake QB premadonna that can't handle the pressure. IMHO

First of all smart ass, I just ask you a question if you thought it could possibly be TB between the ears? You hear Pro football players all the time say coaches can only do so much. The rest of it lies squarely on the player. To me, this is a TB issue. Not Jim Chaney.

Bray's basic game is the seven-step drop, the long wait, and then the downfield wing. He needs to do a lot more if he's going to be an NFL qb, in my opinion. He'll never be mobile, but he can improve what little mobility he has. He ought to work on trying to play faster--make decisions faster, get rid of the ball faster, be accurate on the short passes. The NFL is a fast game--and he plays slow in a lot of ways.

I am definitely a Bray basher, but this is great for us because a rejuvenated Bray with a fresh attitude gives us the best chance to win. He may be a pain in the arse sometimes but dude can flat out sling it and we sure could use his swagger.

OK with Bray returning as long as the new HC doesn't just hand him the job. He should be forced to compete for it... it might help him overcome his issues with pressure.

Bray should stay, hunter has a kid so chances are he is gone, CP depends on his grades! Cp if he stayed and played next year should be a very high pick if he stayed healthy!
The new coaching staff has got to get bray in control and get him to NOT throw the ball so dang much down the field. More of a surgeon than a hell Mary on throwing the ball.

Oh and a defense would help more than not, Jesus this was a bad year on D,

If Gruden comes, Bray will have no choice. Gruden wont think twice about benching him.

If this is true----it means Bray KNOWS who the next coach IS--and likes it. IF TRUE----we have to speculate it is JG. Bray isn't staying for an Al Golden or a Charlie Strong---or Malzan. So when we see an actual public statement---we'll know the coaching position was filled 2-3 weeks prior.
