anyone not scared s%$$less by this doesn't know what is going on.
agreed. Allowing politicians to turn this into a debate littered with earmarks is very dangerous.

The bill is being hammered by issues that aren't fundamental to the debate.

I saw some interesting polling that shows as the public learns what the bailout plan really is/was, the opposition shrinks.

Initially, the vast majority thought it was a complete give away.

anyone that does about 15 minutes of homework will support this. The rancor in congress is over extraneous garbage.

Who put the ACORN crap in there - they ought to be tarred and feathered for that one. (as should any of the earmarking crowd).

Okay, Nancy Pelosi just tried a joke (I assume) on the Great Depression. She was talking about Bernake and his expertise about the Great Depression. She said: "...I don't know what was so great about it but that's what they call it".

We are so screwed.

She's blathering on right now - what a freakin' disaster. The bill she wants will have everything in it - bankruptcy, stimulus, etc.

Okay now she says that a fiscal package to rebuild our infrastructure (that's government spending) will bring money into the treasury. Say what?

Yea, as I said in another thread Pelosi+Reid+needing common sense action = freaking disaster. And I am not being humorous.

So lawmakers are taking off for Rosh hashanah. I understand religious holidays but if this is really a crisis why on earth don't they work through?
