I actually thought they were trying to avoid his military past, given his special treatment and the Dan Rather debacle.

Oh, but that was republican sabotage! Even though men who served close to or with him were speaking out against him. Kerry tried the best he could to copy the JFK resume but he forgot you actually have to serve with distinction rather than jump ship after getting a splinter.

Yeah...that would seem to be a very likely choice. I think that Richardson makes a lot of sense on several fronts. It works politically and it works geographically.

Kerry certainly played a poor hand with his military service record.
