Just figured that it was a decent idea. Instead of wading through thousands of posts per topic, we could have one locked topic, pinned at the top of the page that we could edit the breaking news headlines into the first post, or simply post them at the end. You could give a few people the ability to edit the topic so that it stays updated fairly quickly.

Yay or nay?

Good idea in principle, but harder to pull off practically, me thinks. There would still be pages of comments to wade through in that thread, and thus be no different than the rest, IMO.

I say make a sticky thread and put all of the commits in it rather they commit here or elsewhere. So you dont have to look up the players profile thread and post it in there. And also put breaking news in there.

Eh, to be honest, I would just update the first post, and every time theres more info put it at the top of the page. If it eventually gets too crowded, I'd just start deleting the older stuff.

Nah, I just decided it's not really worth it. I'll just pull some from the scalpers on the street in the lower bowl.

Never happen. There is too much BS in those threads to sort it out. Concept is a winner. But reality is, too many peeps just post jargon and it all sounds the same.

maybe we need threads that are public to view but private to post in..and i'm not referring to social groups.

basically, invite only to post and something along the lines of an urgent news thread like bburger suggests. sticky the thread would be nice and people can check in as they choose. might cut down on some of the BS which occurs throughout most/all threads.

That's a good idea

Love the idea!!!!
I would make it a sticky and lock it so that only the people with inside/good information can post (probably a small group). This group could be posted inside the sticky so if anyone else had some breaking news they could just PM them.
This might help keep things on topic!!!

I have made a suggestion that when breaking news happens that we put it in the prospects thread in the first post. I am hoping that we can start doing this soon. It will help tremendously. I also want to I-Frame the prospects PW page, that will help as well.

in this scenario, there is no way to tell if the thread has new news.

I like the news thread. In fact, I tried it last year. It was called 'hot news links' or something like that. Pretty much no one contributed aside from myself.

I wouldn't want everyone to be able to contribute though. That would just make it as clogged with random arguments and Rod Wilks posts as every other thread

Basically, is there a way you could lock the thread, but allow 5-6 of the knowledgeable recruiting posters to post in it, edit it, .e.tc?

There has got to be a way to do this without starting a bunch of threads though. They already have a prospect thread, what can we do to get it noticed?? Post it in the first post to where people can catch up and post in in the flow of the conversation?? That wouldn't be too hard if what I suggested to you in the PM I sent happens.

It still needs to be in the first post somehow. If someone comes in late on a prospect, they can read that first post and get up to speed real quick.
