At 4:30 today, there will be a conference call among UT Athletic Director Mike Hamilton, LSU Athletic Director Skip Bertman, and officials with the SEC.

A decision will be made then as to whether or not the game will be played this Saturday, as well as where/when it can be played if moved.

This is a result of the shift in the track of Hurricane Rita to the north, more towards the state of Louisiana. ESPN's broadcast crew, ESPN Radio, ESPN GameDay, and Cold Pizza have already pulled out of Baton Rouge.

sounds like it is going to be a tough decision to make. Everybody knows what these storms can do, even a town like Baton Rouge could see some very serious weather from this thing. I bet they dont play it at all, i wonder if that wouldnt benefit UT.

Perhaps Bama fans could help us with that.

The latest accuweather track shows Rita coming in EAST of Galveston closer towards the Texas/Louisana border. Louisana will be on the Northeast quadrant (the worst one).

Forget about the game and pray for those in the path.

Think about it.... this game is not going to be played in the State of Louisiana this week-end. They cannot play a game when the state is involved in hurricane operations/problems. All the emergency services will be tied up--it will not happen in La. People evacuating up the insterstate from NOLA. No way!

Anyone know what was said at the conference? Freakin Bammers highjacked the thread and went off subject.

It's probably not the time to do so, but I'm going to anyway. "WE TOLD YOU SO." If LSU had just gone ahead with the SEC and together decided to swap the home-home between us this year and next this wouldn't be a problem. As it is, it is too late.

I pray for all the people in the path of the storm, I sure hope it dies down some before landfall, like Ivan did last year. Even at that, Ivan wasn't a storm to laugh at.

==============================

I'm with ya--ditto!! Ya cannot tell Louisiana folks anything. They gambled by wanting to play at home with a 'cane in the oven and they lost.

Perhaps, it'll happen in La at a later date.

Play it in Memphis, and we'll play them @ a neutral site closer to them next year.
There are a ton of solutions to this mess, it's just a matter of everyone wanting to do it.

Will West Tennessee be affected?

Please say no.

Nothing significant.

The latest track shows the vapor trail going west of Memphis.

That doesn't mean you won't get any weather from it, but just no tropical storm leftovers.
