Brewer has a clause in his contract that calls for the Milwaukee Brewers to pick up the full costs of his college education if he decides to attend college. He has already made an official visit to New Mexico and after visiting Oklahoma State this weekend, he also has trips planned to South Carolina, Kentucky and Florida State, the school that he signed with in football coming out of high school.

There i think thats it.

This is great. I hope he can still hack it, especially run that 40 in 4.4. I wish him the best of luck. I can't wait to hear how he practices for the first time in a while.

Do you guys think he can come in and compete? Is "in baseball shape" the same as "in football shape"?

No it isn't. Still its funny we have a MTSU basketball player transferring to play football now we have a baseball player coming in to play football.

Quote from scout article:

“I’m very excited,” Brewer said. “I loved the school, the coaches and the players I met. The team chemistry is great and it’s something I want to be a part of.”

NICE!

im sure he is very athletic and quick considering he was in the mlb. i mean, come on....we are getting a guy that was a pro....maybe in another sport but there are still high standards there.

Saw his brother at club Miami yesterday, i asked him how his brother was doing and he said he was going back to college. I never thought it would be here.

I wonder why Dooley offered him a scholarship if his baseball contract stats his team must pay for college? Seems I would take the baseball team paying for his college instead of wasting our remaining 10 scholly.

Let's rest assured they'll find it and use it if its there.Cmon now. They negotiate muti-million dollar deals for a living. (The appropriate ppl), they won't waste MBrewers checks if they don't have to.

If he's half as impressive as KWash, I'd say we snagged a *gym.

Pretty sure it's just another body. Last I heard is that Loften is qualified. Honestly, I'd rather save the scholarship for next years class if the scholly can be back counted. I'm not too high and snagging a guy who hasn't played football in over 4 years. I guess this is to cover the loss of Oliver.

We are 10 scholarships below what we are allowed so who cares. Why save a scholarship when you don't need to?

Well lets see. He's 22 so he should be more mature. 6'2 I think I read he's 205 now and runs a 4.4(?). He's going to be in conditioned shape from playing minor league ball the past 3 years. That doesn't mean he's going to be in pad/hitting shape, but it looks like from his HS recruitment that he was a true player in HS so it shouldn't take long for him to strap em on and get back into the swing of things. He could be a hidden gem. I'm excited to see.
