Half the problem people have with any announcer is because they are losing. It's amazing how much better an announcer is when you are winning.

Verne and Gary are very good. Verne has just gotten old and slipped.

The same is true with musberger. Mike Patrick has also slipped.

Ron Franklin was the best for me as well.

Can't stand Palmer, but I think pollack is very good. This is a gator saying this too. Half the time on Thursday night I am hoping pollack tells Jesse he's an idiot and needs to shut up.

Always liked Sean McDonough.

Truth be told, there aren't many that stand out so I don't care. Time to get some new blood.

As long as I don't hear Pam ward and my team is winning, we're good

Still recalling how much I enjoyed the championship game option with NO commentary! How I wish that were possible in all games.

Ron Franklin & Mike Gottfried were the best!! Where are they? Bring em back!

Ron Franklin was fired for calling a sideline reporter "honey" in a production meeting because she was talking too much. And the last time I heard Gottfried, he sounded like he had a stroke.

In the 90s and 00s, they were the best at what they did.

I also remember him going on and on about what a "good Christian" somebody was during a game once - I think it was Mark Richt but it might have been Tebow. He made then made some remark about what a shame it is that other people aren't as devout, which I found really bizarre and inappropriate to say as a football announcer.

I think Gary Danielson is an outstanding color analyst - probably the best one working exclusively in college football. Yes, Verne Lunquist is terrible at seeing what's actually happening on the field, but that's half the fun! He reminds me of a jolly old man who's surprised he's still alive, and the unmitigated joy he has in calling games reflects that. He's just as happy asking Aflak trivia questions as he is calling the end of a game like Alabama-Auburn.

Jesse Palmer is a gel-haired, Spurrier-QB-turned-Bachelor-contestant, while Brent Musberger is just a straight up pervert. Thanks but no thanks, SEC Network.

how about......
"Give him six."

"Bottom."

"It's football time in Tennessee!"

Being old like I am, the phrase that brings back lots of football memories is "WHOAAAA NELLIE". Keith Jackson WAS college football broadcasting for many years.

I was never much of a KJ fan. He was like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.

How about neither! They are all terrible! I used to like listening to Keith Jackson and Bob Griese, but they were always on ABC at the time. I liked Mike Patrick, Joe Thiesmann? And Dr Jerry Punch on the sidelines would have to be my favorites though.

Musburger,i can't stand him,it doesn't matter who is playing or where,he will all ways talk about how the Rose Bowl is better than anything or any team that isn't on the west coast,he may as well go and be a homer announcer for USC
