Bring Out The Orange Pants

You're not alone, Blood.

I remember a few years back 'Bama had home and road helmets. They wore red at home and white on the road for maybe 2 years. If any Bammers looking in, help me recall what years.

The Philadelphia Eagles had home and road helmets for a few seasons, I think maybe in the mid 70's it was. Why not orange pants and helments for the road.

If nothing else, at least bring back the fat stripe.
That wouldn't be bad, but I think if we ever wore orange helmets everyone would love them and we'd never go back to white. I could live with home and away helmets though. I guess I have to live with whatever the coaches decide huh.:)

I don't wanna change the uniforms all the time, just occasionally do something different. You know how all the Florida schools have alternate uniforms. I think it would be neat. It creates more excitement in my opinion.

I guess it's good for marketing, but I don't like uniform gimmicks. It's not as if the opposing team looks up when the T opens up and says "OH NOOOOOOOO! FORGET THE GAMEPLAN! THEY ARE WEARING ORANGE PANTS!!"

What if they were wearing camouflage?

As gimmicky as some of that stuff sounds, alot of schools do use the unis as recruiting tools.

Of course, it can work both ways...the classic look of a UT or Bama jersey versus the godawfulness of Oregon, for example.

I really don't care if they wear orange Sumu wraps for home games as long as they win!!!

My 2 cents....

No to orange helmets, the current white helmet with orange T has been around since the 1960's. The thickness of the T has changed from time to time, but has remained essentially the same. The Vols helmets are recognizable nationwide. The current helmet looks great!

My opinion on the orange pants, is they could be worn occasionally. However, they did not look very good (the team and the pants) against Memphis a few seasons ago. Maybe it was because they had no stripe? However, Fulmer brought back the white-on-white look in 1992 and the underdog Vols beat a ranked Georgia team in Athens. It was considered a throwback then. However, I believe just like the helmets, its more recognizable as Tennessee nationwide. [/b]The current white-on-white looks great![/b]

As for black T, black stripes, black anything..... no, no, NO, NO!. The black outline on the numbers was for the press more than anything. The phrase is "my blood runneth orange and white".... not "my blood runneth orange, white, and black."

They should have a throwback week where every team only wears uniforms and equipment from the 20's..

I actually kind of like the orange/orange uniforms. Maybe once a year for a non-conference game. Orange helmets are horrid.

I bought some orange pants at Goodys while my wife wasn`t looking.
She was right, I look very stupid wearing them.
