Bruce Pearl apologizes for off-color joke

The only people offended by that are the ones who are trying to prove how non racist they are, and if you gotta prove it you're not living it. But Bruce has to know that stuff like that explodes. We all know that Nathan Bedford Forrest didn't start a bridge club in our great state back in the day, and that makes what he said pretty frickin' funny.

I think my opinion of Bruce Pearl is pretty clear to anyone who's been here more than 5 minutes. That said, this is a silly story. The joke wasn't even out of line. I haven't seen any outrage from the people of Grainger County. If they aren't offended, nobody else should be.

Health care is failing, education is in the crapper, our economy is dragging ass, political corruption everywhere, but lets take time to report and blow out of proportion a joke made by a ball coach at a fundraiser, and our president for saying the word jack ass.

I hate todays Media.

I'm pretty sure this wasn't leading the 6:30 news. Why would sportscasters be concerned with health care, education, or the economy?

In order for a joke to be funny there usually has to be at least a small element of truth. Anyone who has ever been through Grainger county knows it's funny as hell.

LoL...And then ESPN.com throws in at the bottom of the article that Grainger County has a 98% white population...:lolabove:

Sportscasters uncovered the story and brought it to light. Other non sport news outlets did run with it. And technically, they should be concerned with all of the above. lol

Point of my post being, the political correctness of today's society makes me want to hurl. We can spend time making light of a joke such as this while kids are taking steroids, cheating on entrance exams, and god knows what other transgressions. And this is only at UK. Imagine the rest of the college world.
