Alright, to start off, why in the hell did we press them the entire 2nd half when Rondo was just dribbling right through it and either shooting layups or throwing the ball to Sparks and Crawford for 3's?!?

2nd, why could he not come up with something to stop Rondo driving through the lane or teach them how to guard a screen and roll?!? You would think we had never seen one or something...

3rd, he had 2 timeouts in his pocket at the end of the game and 1:30 went off the clock with us trailing and not 1 was ever called.

I mean, dont get me wrong I think he is a good coach, but games like this leave me wondering... Was he just scared to mess up? Or was he just not aware either??

On the other hand though, the refs were some of the worst I had ever seen...

Nevermind missed free throws, zero inside presence and letting the other team shoot 79% in the second half. Let the second guessing begin. :shakehead:

He beat us because he has a Randolph Morris. We don't. Put Morris on our team and we go to the final four.

You and me both...

If he had it to do over again, maybe he'd do some things differently, but to say he "costed" us anything is weak.

There have been innumerable asinine posts on this board. However, I think we have a winner as the single most ridiculous post in VolNation history.

I hate to keep dissecting this post, but after the last 2 months how can you even remotely think about posting that? He's doing all of this with smoke and mirrors right now.

MOST of us seem to get that.

The way I see it, we should be thanking our lucky stars for Bruce Pearl.

We have 20 wins with a tough RPI.

We broke the top 10 twice this season with a team that didn't even make it to the NIT last year.

We won the SEC East.

Our guys are ALL heart and they leave everything on the court.

We're going to the tournament.

We've swept UF, SC and UGA this season with a possible Vandy sweep.

We won AT Kentucky and Florida and Texas.

Pearl has been nothing but a publicity machine for the Vols and is doing a great job at getting the tradition back.

He's up for coach of the year.

Every player on the team has improved their game.

We have a top 10 recruiting class next year with some solid players..

I'm sure that there was a reason that Pearl didn't call that timeout. He's not an idiot. Kentucky just played a great game in the second half and that's the way the ball rolls sometimes.

He is right. We need to fire CBP just like we need to fire CPF. Fans like this make me so proud!

Other than the refs, we did give it away at the end..

IF you're Smith, why do you try to drive 3 times instead of giving it to your All-SEC point guard right behind you?

Why not call a time out in that same sit?

I can see not calling it in the last 8 sec...sortof. Watson, imo, should have stopped, and taken a long range good form shot, rather than a right on the line prayer. OR, give it to Lofton for the super long 3.

There were a lot of things we could have done, but we just didn't hang in there. We put ourselves in the position to win. Missing front sides of 1and1's doesn't help you win. We lost 4 or 6 points from that. Missing the EASY EASY shots at the beginning of the 2nd half..that hurts.

Asumnu, I like him a lot, but damn son, STOP SHOOTING ALL THE TIME! His shot selection is very poor, he's making himself, a good player, look bad with that.

Wingate, dude..they're calling touch fouls, don't put yourself in a position to get 3 fouls in 5 min when we need you the most.

Bradshaw..moving screen man..you konw they're calling it.

Smith..leave the driving and point guard stuff to the POINT GUARD

AND PLEASE! someone set some better screeens for Lofton..allowing Sparks to run around uncontested doesn't help him get open.

I am not talking about the things this team does not have. I understand that we have ZERO presence inside and no depth. All I am saying is Kentucky beat us without running a single offensive set in the 2nd half. They did all pick and rolls and penetration with Rondo but Pearl could not get these guys to guard that at all. And then the 2 timeouts stuck in his pocket are ridiculous...

Pearl just said that he didn't call the timeout because he felt like we had a better chance making the transition basket like we have done all year. I can understand that. Look what happened to Florida when they called a timeout in the final seconds against us.
